  • Weak Delete Weak notability, seems almost promotional in phrasing. Overall, not worth an article. BJackJS talk 18:35, 11 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep in a folk music hall of fame, and collected by major archives -- appears to me GNG, with plenty of sources, Sadads (talk) 13:35, 13 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep individual inducted into hall of fame for lifetime contributions to folk music in Canada, several commercial recordings, items located in archives, and has a persistent and significant decades-spanning career. These assertions are supported with citations. Smallison (talk) 15:14, 13 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep important contributor to folk music in Canada, the world needs more Canada! Bibliojo (talk) 16:05, 13 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep notable Canadian folk musician. Part of the Mariposa Hall of Fame and known in Canada and North America. Lengthy citations and references look credible. Chittah (talk) 16:27, 13 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Significant contributor to Canadian folk music. Documentation is sufficient. DMaley (talk) 16:54, 13 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep 25 references across books, journals, and newspapers. Hall of famer. Well written article. Maybe it sounds promotional because, you know, Owen McBride is notable? This is a no-brainer. Dan Scott (talk) 18:48, 13 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep This is a well-written entry describing a key figure in Canadian music (a field sorely lacking in documentation). This is not "promotional". I say this, if I may, as an emeritus professor of musicology at a major Canadian university. I have edited countless articles on the subject (again, if I may). This is an important document, one that will be referenced. Please do not remove this. Scrypted (talk) 14:08, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. I do see problems with the state of the article at the time of nomination, but it's since been significantly improved. More work is still necessary — I still see Blogspot blogs (which are absolutely verboten) and the self-published websites of organizations (which can be sparingly used where absolutely necessary so long as other better sources are covering off the notability piece, but should be avoided as much as possible) in the sourcing pool — but enough higher quality sources have been added. Bearcat (talk) 14:35, 16 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep The tone is neutral (as neutral as possible while discussing a widely-admired musician), the information can be verified (multiple sources are quoted), and Hall-of-Famer McBride is certainly notable in the world of Canadian music. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.78.8.4 (talk) 22:05, 17 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
