  • Delete per WP:NOTMEMORIAL. A non-notable college sportscaster who died in recent days, and was the subject of obituaries in local news media. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 05:12, 29 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. I added to article. He was notable before death from multiple coverage, interviews over years (see multiple prior years' quotes from him in first Statesboro Herald source in article, which must be from previous coverage), and 2012 lifetime achievement Hall of Fameship in Georgia radio. Instant article creation upon death reflects Wikipedua's gap. Coverage in at least 5 local/regional media. Radio broadcaster with thousands of hours exposure (several hours per game, plus radio talk shows like one he was in 10th year of, is more known than a TV broadcaster with same career length (and a couple minutes talking per news show). Think Joe Garagiola or Howard Cosell, vs. I don't know which TV news broadcaster.
Also he bought and sold radio stations (not yet covered in article). And his pioneering first commercial broadcasting of any college baseball team's entire season, starting working from seat on an overturned garbage can, is interesting, notable.-doncram 16:17, 30 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep as per Doncram. Multitude of third party RS coverage of his death. Connormah (talk) 06:04, 23 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep We normally keep articles of long-established sports broadcasters and I see no reason to make an exception here. Passes WP:GNG.--Paul McDonald (talk) 17:41, 23 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Seems to have multiple, reliable, independent sources. Smmurphy(Talk) 20:32, 29 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
