I believe this article is original research. A google search for "Eela Tamilakam" turns out nothing but this article. As a citizen of Sri Lanka, I have never heard of it either (but that is not relevant here I guess). The article seems to be talking about something similar to, but not exactly Eelam. Even the given references do not mention this name (1st ref from Madras University merely mentions the meaning of the word eelam, and the 2nd ref from tamilcanadian - which is not WP:RS anyway - is about the history of Eelam) The country is not divided into tamil speaking or any other language speaking parts, so there is no way this can exist anyway. "Nagatheevu", which this article says is another name for "Eela Tamilakam" is actually a name for the small island of Nainathivu.[1] This is enough to prove that this article is OR I think. While some of the information given in the article is correct with regard to Sri Lanka or Eelam, we can safely assume that "Eela Tamilakam" is non-existent. ≈ Chamal talk 08:32, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi You cannot justify to delete the article regarding Nagatheepam previously knowns as Eela Tamilakam. First the name Eela Tamilakam was largely unknown to many non tamils as it was present only in Tamil epics. so i changed the most common name known as. i have added more reliable references in it to justify the presence of Tamils and their kingdom in ancient period. As few Sinhala people started showing their real face in Wikipedia too. now this is the matter of disputes. deleting this article fully may results in serious of debate and dispute. if they want to delete certain part of the article they have to edit that part with valid reasons and citations. Chamal can feel free to talk about this to with me. You can assume Eela Tamilakam can be non-existent but you cannot assume the Tanporunai or Nagatheepam can be non-existant. --BlueLankan 12:16,1 August 2009 (UTC)
- If that article is about Nagatheepam or Nagadeepa, there is already an article at Nainathivu and the information should be added there. However, your article seems to be a mix of information about Nainathivu, Eelam and Jaffna Kingdom brought under a single topic that can be found nowhere else but in this Wikipedia article. That is why I believe it is WP:OR. I have commented on your talk page about the accusation you have made. Your inline citations support individual facts, and do not talk about a single entity like a "tamil country" in any name, whether it is Eela Tamilakam or Nagatheepam or whatever. ≈ Chamal talk 03:21, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep(for now):The whole thing may be badly written but you shouldn't embark on a raid when it's barely 2 days old, seems to have some value and is clearly labeled as being "under construction." Advice to the first author/page creator: next time you write something, make it a subpage to your userpage and mess around *there* until you think it's ready for public scrutiny. When you post something half-done into main space, this is what happens. Seb az86556 (talk) 17:33, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Delete and incoporate with Sri Lankan Tamil People or something similar because the subject matter covered in the article isn't enought to stand alone. HumanFrailty (talk) 05:05, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete, fails WP:V. I tried searching by the Tamil script given in the article; Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL but got nothing usable. Abductive (reasoning) 09:45, 16 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
