I don't believe this person meets WP:NPROF. None of the criteria aside from #6 seem like they could apply. I considered #6 since he is a dean of the College of Dentistry, but #6 also mandates that the post be at a "major academic institution or major academic society" and I'm not sure the U of Iowa College of Dentistry constitutes a major academic institution. ♠PMC♠ (talk) 06:49, 21 August 2022 (UTC)

- Keep. Dean is definitely not enough for #C6. I'm not familiar enough with the standards of citation in dentistry to judge his citation counts but with many in the triple digits he may plausibly pass WP:PROF#C1. As the article clearly stated before it was recently anonymously lobotomized, and the nominator should have seen in the history as part of WP:BEFORE, he had a distinguished professor title at his former institution [1] [2], enough for #C5. —David Eppstein (talk) 07:07, 21 August 2022 (UTC)
- Keep As David Eppstein said, Dean isn't sufficient, however distinguished professor meets WP:NPROF#5 and notability is WP:NOTTEMPORARY. The article definitely needs some work, but WP:DINC. -Kj cheetham (talk) 13:52, 21 August 2022 (UTC)
- Keep. Distinguished professorship is enough for NPROF C5, even if it isn't his current position. JoelleJay (talk) 19:20, 21 August 2022 (UTC)
- Keep: As a distinguished professor, he passes WP:NPROF. Curbon7 (talk) 12:52, 22 August 2022 (UTC)
