Fails WP:SOLDIER, WP:NACADEMIC and WP:GNG. One award of the Navy Cross and retired a Major doesn't make him notable, nor does his traumatic injury nor later Academic career Mztourist (talk) 03:32, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment: This string of WP:NSOLDIER-related nominations for Navy Cross awardees has proven controversial on a level that implies there should really be a consensus discussion on this topic (note that NSOLDIER is on an essay that explicitly has not been vetted by the community). I say 'controversial' not as a synonym for it going one way or another, but in regards to the fact it's truly proven a substantial disagreement between established AfD-frequenting editors. I would personally hold off on the Navy Cross nominations and have an RfC about it at the relevant village pump. Vaticidalprophet (talk) 05:24, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see anything controversial about them at all, the consensus have been overwhelmingly to Delete or Redirect where a ship was named after the recipient as just being awarded a Navy Cross isn't notable. Mztourist (talk) 06:27, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
