The result was speedy keep. Per WP:DIRECTOR. Subject is inherently notable as Director of Oscar nominated film which is itself notable. (non-admin closure) Α Guy into Books™ § (Message) - 14:27, 24 September 2017 (UTC)

- Keep Hi Aguyintobooks. The subject seems to qualify per WP:DIRECTOR, and perhaps per GNG itself. He is the Director of India's Oscar entry for 2017.[1][2][3][4][5]. Why do you think this article should be deleted? Would you wish to consider withdrawing the nomination? Thanks. Lourdes 13:59, 24 September 2017 (UTC)
- Comment @Lourdes: I can't see it myself. Are you saying that all lead actors, producers and directors of Oscar nominated films are inherently notable? Α Guy into Books™ § (Message) - 14:13, 24 September 2017 (UTC)
- Aguyintobooks, as per DIRECTOR,
"The person has created or played a major role in co-creating a significant or well-known work or collective body of work. In addition, such work must have been the primary subject of an independent and notable work (for example, a book, film, or television series, but usually not a single episode of a television series) or of multiple independent periodical articles or reviews."
The subject's Oscar entry movie is well-reviewed. Therefore, he seems to be significantly notable. (I've not yet placed the sources that discuss the Director himself, of which I've seen many. Without wanting to make you feel slighted in any way - as that is not the intention - I would request you to do a Google search for the same). Thanks. Lourdes 14:22, 24 September 2017 (UTC)- No that's fair enough, I was under the impression that sources about his work did not translate to being about him. However if Oscar nominated films are "significant or well known" then by all means this can be kept. Α Guy into Books™ § (Message) -
