He held a lot of positions, but as far as I can judge, none of them really push him over the notability bar. An obituary cites his long service on the Board of Regents of the University of North Texas first. If that's his best shot, it isn't enough for me. Keep: Given the individual positions held by Mr. Willis I would agree with the nominator. However, taken in combination, especially the naming of the library A.M. Willis, Jr., Library at the University of North Texas, and the appointment of Mr. Willis as Chief of Staff of the House Veterans Affairs Committee moves me to the Keep opinion. Keep, but the opening paragraph needs to be edited to clarify notability. Insurance exec., etc., is not notable, and should therefore be mentioned later, in the article body. Willis' notability is from his civic roles as (i) LBJ's man in West Texas, (ii) Chairman of the Board of Regents for the University of North Texas, (iii) the namesake for the university's library, and (iv) Chief of Staff of the House Veterans Affairs Committee. Keep - WP:GNG - Enough coverage in reliable secondary sources. His role as chairman of the board of regents of the University of North Texas, having a library building with his name, and chief of staff of the House Veterans Affairs Committee are sufficient to support an article. - Sincerely, Taketa (talk) 08:11, 31 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
