WP:NOTNEWS. A routine event, with no real consequences. Fram (talk) 11:29, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Note: This discussion has been included in the deletion sorting lists for the following topics: Events and United States of America. Fram (talk) 11:29, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge: Non-notable event in my view, it should just be a part of the history section of Hoover Dam. – Concordiad 11:34, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete A glaring drain of electricity in cyberspace and editor neurons. SPECIFICO talk 11:55, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge or Delete This information belongs in the Hoover Dam page; it doesn't merit its own article. Balon Greyjoy (talk) 12:01, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nomination. Two short sentences on the event were removed yesterday from Hoover Dam, and nobody's objected yet, so a merge would likely need to be even shorter: There was a fire in July 2022; nobody was hurt.[111] Storchy (talk) 12:33, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete It doesn't seem to have been a massive incident, and the title "2022 Hoover Dam Explosion", although accurate, makes it sound like the damn burst or was blown up. Given that it's a really short article, I think best to delete and maybe add a line into the Hoover dam article as suggested by Storchy above. Have a good one everyone! • Delete, perhaps even by explosion. Fram is right - of no consequence. Best Alexandermcnabb (talk) 14:34, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Snow Delete. I tagged this during new page patrol seconds after creation and commented to the page creator this wouldn't likely meet NEVENT. Even the page creator thinks this should be deleted; they prodded it immediately after. I removed their own prod myself (the subject then being mere minutes old), then went off to work. Now that we're certain this is merely routine, I agree with my first impulse. Thanks for the nom. BusterD (talk) 16:21, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete This might be worth mentioning in the main article on the Hoover Dam, but it is not noteworthy enough for its own article. Partofthemachine (talk) 16:58, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Non-notable event; turned out to be nothing but a news story. Iamreallygoodatcheckers (talk) 17:22, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete or Merge does not merit own article but could get mention on Hoover Dam page. Hughesdarren (talk) 09:26, 21 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Fails WP:NEVENT and likely not even worth a mention in the main article. Qwaiiplayer (talk) 13:47, 21 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment For those wanting or encouraging a potential merge, there really is not a natural place this could be briefly mentioned at Hoover Dam. If you don't believe me, look for yourself. Iamreallygoodatcheckers (talk) 19:32, 21 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete and merge under #Power distribution. Best place I can think of. SWinxy (talk) 05:08, 22 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge into Hoover Dam article. The end of #Power plant and water demands seems the most natural place to me seeing as the fire was from one of the transformers which is part of the hydroelectric plant. Gazamp (talk) 02:23, 24 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
