Background
In 2004, Equality Knocks was launched with combined support from both Equality Texas (formerly the Lesbian and Gay Rights Lobby) and the Houston GLBT Political Caucus.
The primary focus of this organizating effort was voter identification and mobilization against Proposition 2. Proposition 2 was a proposed amendment to the Texas state constitution which bans the legal recognition of same-sex marriage ceremonies.
Proposition 2 passed, but the momentum for a permanent political organization remained.
In addition to voter identification activities, HERA founders believed their new organization needed to promote aliance building among all progressive causes throughout the Houston area and surronding communities.

Anarchism is Not Enough is a manifesto against systematic thinking, a difficult book by a famously difficult writer. For the scope of its critical imagination, it is the most radical work of Laura Riding's early period. This period extends from the end of 1925, when she left America for Europe and Robert Graves, to 1939, the year she returned to America, renounced any further writing of poetry, and soon after married Schuyler Jackson.

Mean Streets: The RPG of Classic Film Noir
Mean Streets: The RPG of Classic Film Noir is a role-playing game developed by Mark Bruno and published by Deep7 in 2002. According to the publisher, Mean Streets takes the best (and bleakest) aspects of film noir, presenting them in a concept with which to role-play cynical private eyes, unscrupulous gangsters, and dangerous femme fatales as portrayed in film noir from the '40s and better part of the '50s.
The rules for Mean Streets were designed around Deep7's proprietary rules engine, titled XPG, of which its mechanics are unobtrusive and easy to learn, even for the novice player. It is the same rules system that is used in Red Dwarf the Roleplaying Game, Bloode Island XPG and other Deep7 products including the upcoming Shriek XPG: The RPG of Teen Horror and RADZ, a post-apocalyptic RPG. The XPG system was designed by Deep7 creative director Todd Downing. XPG is a stat+skill roll-under system using 2d6. The margin of the successful roll is the degree of the success. Boxcars (natural 12) is always a critical failure, resulting in some form of fumble. On snake-eyes (natural 2), the character has a critical success -- the player can make the roll a second time and, if successful, add the second roll's margin of success to the total.
Since release, Mean Streets has spawned a number of supplements, including:
• Vendetta, a gangland resource
• Usual Suspects, an NPC resource
• Concrete Jungle, the New York City setting and sourcebook
• Dark Companion, a collection of new rules and updates
• Modus Operandi, a sourcebook on law enforcement and the courts

A free supplement also exists for the game, incorporating fantasy elements to the core game. Titled, That Old Black Magic, the supplement presents an alternate setting for the game, incorporating sorcery against the backdrop of 1940s Hollywood. It's a world where gangsters in expensive suits are master sorcerers, spirits get the third degree from cops, zombies come six to a crate just like bon-bons, and your landlady is a licensed witch, according to the official description on the game's support site, which is maintained by the game's developer Mark Bruno, independently of Deep7.

Kurzweil Educational Systems, Inc. is an American based company that specialises in providing reading and writing software to assist people who are blind or partially sighted, or who have learning disabilities, such as dyslexia and Attention Deficit Disorder. Founded in 1996, the company has pioneered the development of assistive technology, and achieved worldwide recognition for its work. Kurzweil Educational Systems has also won several excellence awards within its industry. Its headquarters are based in Bedford, Massachusetts.
The company supplies two principal products to its customers - Kurzweil 1000 and Kurzweil 3000. Kurzweil 1000 is a package which enables a visually impaired user to gain access to both electronic and printed material by speaking aloud text which has been scanned or copied; while Kurzweil 3000 is a reading, writing and learning medium aimed mainly at students who are struggling to keep up in the academic environment.

Though the company was formed in the mid 1990s, text to speech software is actually something that dates back to the 1970s, when Dr Raymond Kurzweil developed his first Kurzweil Reading Machine, a device which could scan and speak text.

Victim Effect is a 6 peice band currently out of Provo Utah. They have a Metal Electronic sound, unique and Genre busting. Victim Effect was founded by Brandon Bowthorpe and Micah Biagi. Micah and Brandon met at a party in Sacramento California when Brandon was singing and playing "Third Eye Blind" Micah Began singing Harmony to Brandon. Early 2006 The Band Relocated from Sacramento to Provo Because of School and personal reasons. The Original Victim Effect Line up Broke up but Victim Effect Continued on. Brandon Quickly Added Greg Judd on third Guitar as Lead. Micah was still doing guitar and backing vocals. Brandon Lead Vocals and guitar. Her broadcasting career began in the mid 1980s while she was working for Radio Trent. Initially one of the station's Careline presenters, she went on to host a show at Trent in her own right, before later taking a career break in order to bring up her children. Returning to the airwaves in the 1990s, she presented shows on Trent's mediumwave service, GEM-AM, then the Classic Gold network after GEM became one of many AM services to be taken over by the network. At Classic Gold, she hosted the breakfast show and was later a lunchtime presenter, before leaving to join SAGA.

Suzanne Mizzi, born December 1, 1967 on the Mediteranean island of Malta, is a former glamour model. She made regular appearances as a Page Three girl in the British newspaper The Sun during the 1980s and 1990s, before going on to have a career as a catwalk model, as well as becoming a minor film and pop star. She has been less prominent in more recent times.
As of 2006, she is a practicing artist and interior designer, and exhibits her work at London's Rainbird Fine Art Gallery. She also runs an interior and building design consultancy business.
Suzanne is married to her long term boyfriend with whom she has one child.

It takes just a note or two to hear that La Excelencia is different. A New York salsa band led by percussionist Jose Vazquez-Cofresi and Julian Silva. La Excelencia is made up of younger salsa musicians, it plays raw and hard, with none of the sweetening that gunk up pop salsa of today. This is unprettified salsa dura, with the percussion cranked, lots of breaks, the voices loud, almost distorted. It’s the sound of a tough working band, the sort that used to be everywhere in New York during the 1970's salsa era, and now are rare to find. It’s unapologetic, and unafraid of its tradition. The lyrics of La Excelencia give us a look into the modern day barrio, and speak of social issues found in our own lives. With the release of "Salsa con Conciencia", La Excelencia has received international and national recognition. The real deal doesn’t show up that often, and here it is. Celebrate it.

Caring is a suburb 3 miles south-east to the town of Maidstone, Kent. It belongs to the district of Leeds CP
3 miles south-east from Maidstone and between Otham and Leeds the area of Caring is located. It's a part where many modern farmhouses (in the style of old hop drying houses) with big estates are located. The district is well known for high percentage of rich people living there. Especially the famous race driver Nick Hartwell resides there. An other attraction is is the old Vineyard, a free tourist feature.

Ahl-i-Hadis Movement in Bengal
Origins of the Ahl-i-Hadis movement started in early 19th century and related to a movement initiated by Shah Waliullah (1703-1762) of Delhi. The Ahl-i-Hadits came under severe criticism for not acknowledging the existence of the sunni schools and came to be known as ghair mukallid or non-conformists. They believed that every Muslim of sufficient learning can draw his own conclusions from the Quran and Hadith and not rely on opinions and decisions of the classical jurists. Waliullah’s works were carried on by a number of his disciples such as Shah Sayyid Ahmed (1786-1850) of Rae Bareili. The movement’s central message was the purification of faith which had been infiltrated by the Hindu culture.
The movement developed in Bengal under the leadership of Mualana Abu Abdullah Mansur Rahman Ansari, who came to Dhaka in the 1860s. Ansari was appointed Imam of the Ahl-i-Hadis Jam-i-Masjid and head teacher of the madrassa attached to the mosque. Ansari’s preaching was largely done in the Dhaka and Mymmensingh region where he managed to influence a large number of people including Haji Badruddin (1800-1875) a wealthy merchant from Dhaka, Maulana Ibrahim of Mymmensingh and Aminuddin of Bakerganj, who later became leading Ahl-i-Hadis members in Bengal.
Ansari’s sons, Maulana Abdul Jabbar Ansari and Abdul Hakim Ansari took up the cause of their father and helped spread the Ahl-i-Hadis cause in the rural areas of Mymmensingh. Haji Badruddin helped the movement financially, sending out different preachers to different areas of Bengal and Bihar.
In the same period Mualanas Wilayat Ali and Inayat Ali emerged as the leading personalities of the movement takings it message to the far corners of Bengal and attracting large number of followers.
To consolidate their efforts the movement was turned into an organisation under the heading the All-India Ahl-i-Hadis Coneference in 1906 at Lucknow, India. Later in 1914, the Anjuman-i-Ahl-i-Hadis of Bengal and Assam was created. The reason behind forming a committee is as follows:
(i) to answer questions relating to its doctrines
(ii) preach it in different areas of the country; and
(iii) unite the members of the movement under a banner
The Anjuman translated the Quran into Bengali, participated in open debates and discussions in propagating the movement.
The Wahhabi Trials (1868-71) led by the British Government meant that any ‘revivalist’ religious activities were suppressed. Many of the Ahl-i-Hadis men were arrested which led to the disintegration of the Anjuman leading into the 20th century. During this period Maulana Abdullahil Kafee al-Quraishi came forward to uphold it’s caused and founded the Bogra Ahl-i-Hadis Samiti in 1920 giving the movement a new direction. Under Quraishi’s leadership many centres were opened for propagation.
The movement continued and in 1946 the All Bengal and Assam Jamat-i-Ahl-i-Haids was created at the Rangpur Conference with its headquarters at Calcutta. The offices later shifted to Pabna after partition in March 1948. Steps were also taken to form district and local jamats (organisations).
May 1949, Maulana Abdullahahil Baqi established the Ahl-i-Hadis Printing and Publishing House at Pabna and later that year published the first issue of the monthly Tarjumanum Hadis under the editorship of its president, Al-Kafee al-Quraishi.
The organisation's name changed to East Pakistan Jamat-i-Ahl-i-Hadis after partition (1947).

After moving to Arlington, Texas from the Bronx, New York, Jason Kabolati completed high school at James Bowie. He later attended the University of Texas where he developed a passion for writing. Soon after he found himself writing scripts in Los Angeles and pursuing his filmmaking career. He returned to to the DFW area in 2000 and shot his first feature film starring Rachel Hunter, and James Russo. Jason wrote and produced "Pendulum" while his Sigma Chi fraternity brother Charles Acosta acted as Executive Producer. Since, he has completed four feature films. His most recent is a film based on the best selling novel by VC Andrews "Rain" and stars Academy Award winner, Faye Dunaway and Academy award nominee, Robert Loggia. Jason is slated to direct his first feature this summer. In September 2006 Jason's film "Mad Bad" which he wrote and produced, won best feature at the NY/LA International Film Festival.

Rijul Gupta was born on December 19th 1992, in a little town in Oklahoma. Ever since he was little he has influenced the lives of every one around him. He becomes an inspiration to everyone.
Ever since he was yound Rijul has always been intrested in learning. He starting reading when he was just three years old has continued to read many grade levels past his age. He was intellegent from the start. When he was five he was enrolled in a "head start" program, for children advanced in academics, at a local private school. He continued to go to school their until 1st grade when he moved to a very small public school. There he exelled in everything he did.
By the first day at his new school, all the teachers new he was special. He could add, subtract, multiply, and even do long divison. Ever since then he has been doing accelerated math, and has been studying on his own in other subjects. During his 7th grade year Rijul studied pre-algebra, an 8th grade math class, and blew through it with outstanding results. The next year he took algebra, a ninth grade class, and at the same time studied geometry, a ninth grade class, and continues on this advanced legacy.
Rijul was also very competitive in academics too. Ever since he was allowed to, fourth grade, he has been competing in academic tournaments. So far he has collected 23 gold medals, 2 silver medals, and 1 bronze medals, out of a possible 26 medals. He also competed in is school Academic Bowl team and has been captain all three years. In his first year, a team comprised of 6th and 7th graders, he led his team to win 1st place in both district and regionals. The next year, 7th grade, he was allowed to play on the 6th and 7th grade team as well as a team with 8th graders. He was captaing of both teams. HIs 6th and 7th grade team won first in both district and regionals only to place fourth in state. Although on his team with 8th graders, he led to win first in district, regionals, and state. Similarly in his 8th grade year.
When Rijul turned nine years old, his parents enrolled him into drum lessons. It was hard in the begining but he stuck with it. This gave him a life long hobby and a springboard for a musical background. The next year he pleaded until he was allowed to take piano lessons. Instantly, he showed an extreme musical gift. His parents continued to allow him to take trumpet the next year, guitar the next and violin the year after that. Sometimes his dad even gave him lessons in the harmonica. Today Rijul can has mastered the art of music in six intruments.
Rijul competes in sports. He is a major player of his basketball team. He also enjoys to play golf and likes to play chess with his father.
Rijul Gupta has changed many peoples lives forever. They can never forget what he did for them. He inspired every one he meets and is a joy to his friends and family. He is a great student, a feirce competitor, and good athelete, and an excellent musician. All these elements and many more comprise the wonderful person that is Rijul Gupta

Having joined forces with electronic masterminds John Acquaviva and Richie Hawtin, Allan is one of our most distinguished DJ Producers, holding innovation as a priority. Indeed, one of his many qualities as a DJ is his keenness to experiment with new technologies to make his live performances all the more inventive and exhilarating.

Peter Bell, B.1990,proud member of Grangemouth High School has been highly regarded as a legend among it's current pupils. His acts of charity go highly regerded, for Children in Need he shaved his hair in the classroom of one "Mr. Torney" and a piece of this hair has been preserved in a coffie jar for pupils to remember this legendary event. One of his more interesting attributes is his ability to eat far more than the average human body could digest, most of this being Haribo sweets. Teachers have also accepted his needs and alow him to eat in class until he is content, although this moment has yet to come.

DJ Doc Rok is a world renowned dj and producer. Born August 26, 1985 in Rochester NY he has also lived in Austin, Texas and now resides in the Washington D.C. Metro area. Rok works as an on air personality for D.C.'s Number one station WPGC 95.5. Doc is currently working on the King Kan/A-Squad project, which has been experiencing great success with the release of their first single, "Chain Swang". In addition to being featured on mixtapes and recieving radio play around the world, the video shoot is currently being wrapped up to be featured on TV networks worldwide. Additional in-production projects include soundtrack work for Access TV, and tracks for Bossman and Tabi Bonney as well as singer Dre Black. Past projects include work with Laelo Hood, Tai Slumz, Drizza Don Dre, and the Powell House Project. DJ Doc Rok has many aliases including Nasdaq, 20hz, Benny Blanco, The Boy Genius, Toney Two-Toned, and AKA more AKAs than the Taliban. These have been earned over the years working with different artists.
