I am, with regret, opposing Hersfold because of his poor clerking of Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Abd-William M. Connolley. While the parties and arbitrators bear the prime measure of responsibility for this as well, the inattention, failure to maintain decorum, and lack of enforcement of minimum standards of behavior inspire little confidence in his potential as an arbitrator. Support: I first encountered Hersfold as the clerk in the Speed of light arbitration, in which I was a party. He was fair and even-handed to everyone, calm, diligent, promoted and exemplified civility, and in my opinion showed good judgment in all his actions (including the times he did not do what I wanted). I've since noticed some of his actions as an admin, and have been very favorably impressed with those. I think he will make an excellent arbitrator. —Finell 10:10, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
