Our village 'Onawa' in Ombalantu

Onawa is a village in nothern Namibia in Ovamboland near near the border with Angola situated about 10km east of Outapi in Omusati region alocated between the main gravel road linked Outapi to Okalongo.

The language spoken in Onawa village is oshiwambo.The topography of the Onawa area is characterized by an extremely flat area with a massive marula, boobab, mopane and palm trees. Onawa has been a growing village in Anamulenge constitueny with primary and combined schools,clinic and few numbers of shops and couple of cuccashops.Some part of the village is covered by oshana Oasis and and least deforestated forest of Mopane and bushes.

INFRASTUCTRUCTURES AND PUBLIC SERVICES there is one clinic, the village is fully supplied with water and electricity at cuccashops and some houses. There is a planned secondary school to be established soon.

MAIN ECONOMIC ACTIVITIES residents of Onawa village use to cultivate land to grow mahangu as their staple food and domesticate heard of cattle and goats. The main source of income is selling their domestic animals and crops. In term ouf labour, most people in Onawa are unemployement.
