Thanks for experimenting with Wikipedia. The links you added to the page Ronaldinho have been removed. Please do not add commercial links—or links to your own private websites—to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or a mere collection of external links. You are, however, encouraged to add content instead of links. See the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks. - CobaltBlueTony 19:21, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. Let me make my comment a little more personal. The internet is FULL of sites like yours (which you are definitely promoting by placing these links everywhere) and access to them is so simple. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and NOT a place to pop links in just because it's the same topic. When the above message says to add content instead of links, it is because external links are useless to a real encyclopedia. If possible, we try to link internally, and externally link only to resources for the articles. There are plenty of Ronaldinho links and sites with videos that display his skills; they should not be linked here. Please, please, stop plugging your site under the guise of adding valuable encyclopedic content. You may very well mean well, but this just isn't the place for this specific link. Thank you for understanding. - CobaltBlueTony 14:30, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your note, but I still do not understand the value of blocking my links. I understand the internet is FULL of sites, that doesn't mean that inclusion of VALID links to those sites isn't valid content. I would argue the ability to add links such as the link I provided is extremely valuable to display his ability. Is there a way I could promote this video directly on the site? I would ENCOURAGE people to enter content to which adds to this community, the same way that I would encourage people to include links to content which can't be directly embedded into the article. My intention is not to spam... I was purely amazed by the video and believe it is a valuable addition to the post. - Videoawards 14:46, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, then let me make a recommendation. Since your user name lends to the impression that you are pushing your own site, might I recommend finding other editors, esp. administrators, who agree with the value of your links to the individual articles to which you have added them. With more than one person supporting them, your additions would be much less likely to get deleted, and if/when they do, then others will be on hand to argue against it and lend credence to your submissions. This is how content is debated and supported, and since you intend to add value to the article(s), it should fall under the same criteria. I'm going to attempt to restore your link, and let's see if anyone else attempts to delete it. Hopefully we can work together to add value to the site. - CobaltBlueTony 15:04, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, not sure how I find other Administrators but it sounds fair and I appreciate and value the democracy of this system, and frankly I wouldn't want your job :). - Videoawards 15:20, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I'm just an editor like yourself, but all editors have the same "right" to revert and notify other editors if they seem to be going outside the scope of Wikipedia. If you have been obstinate and continuously reverted without discussion, that's when I would have requested administrator help. As the welcome message above indicates, I try to, and encourage other serious editors to, be bold! Happy editing! - CobaltBlueTony 15:29, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Now I feel like an idiot. That video is not real. What is more, your site is simply an AdWords link farm. No more links for you! - CobaltBlueTony 15:54, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:EL and WP:NOT. - CobaltBlueTony 16:36, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry you feel like an idiot, I didn't realize that was a fake either, looks too real. I need to do some more research on the validity of that with something other than a foriegn web site. Second, this is very frustrating. The site is NOT an link farm. There are links on the right but it's far from being a link farm, unless you defined any site with adsense a link farm?
