Information icon Hello, I'm Marianna251. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —the one you made with this edit to Helminthoglyptidae— because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize pages by deliberately introducing incorrect information, as you did at Lot 16, Prince Edward Island, you may be blocked from editing. Marianna251TALK 12:54, 2 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Bastian Schweinsteiger. Walter Görlitz (talk) 14:03, 2 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Bastian Schweinsteiger

Hi Walter,

You left me a message to warn that I may be blocked from editing without further warning next time I edit something, as you reverted my edit on Bastian Schweinsteiger. Thank you for correcting my spelling mistake, that was an oversight on my part. However, I disagree with your point that there is no need to change the tense. I acknowledge that he was regarded as a brilliant midfielder, but he currently plays for Manchester United and is their 6th choice central midfielder, behind the likes of Michael Carrick and Marrouane Fellaini. This clearly indicates that he is no longer the great player that he once was, therefore, my change of tense was clearly justified and should be reinstated immediately. You also reverted my other edit on this page, where I changed "demoted and sent to training with the U21 team" to "demoted and sent to training with the newfly formed reserves/U23 (replaced U21) team". I do not understand why this has been reverted, as it is factual and accurate that the U21 team no longer exists. This has been replaced, in reality, by the reserves team, which is often called the U23 team. Therefore it is clear that this edit should be reinstated immediately.

Thank you (talk) 15:12, 2 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I will not reinstate the edit. For the record, this is your edit. There's no indication that the U23 team existed or was newly formed, yet you added that to the article. "He was once" goes against MOS:PRESENT, and there's no indication from the supplied reference that he is not longer regarded as one of the best midfielders in the world. Again, unless you provide a source with it in the past tense, readers will be able to see the date of the references and determine if this is or is not still the case. The same applies to being voted the best German player in 2013. Nothing about your edit was correct which is why it was all reverted and will remain that way. If I had not reverted it, I suspect that at least one of the two other editors who have that on their watch page would have done so. Walter Görlitz (talk) 04:52, 3 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
And for the record, I only warned you that you might be blocked from editing because three other editors had warned you prior to me warning you and it's customary to go to the next level warning. ClueBot was first. Marianna251 presented two separate warnings and I was left with either ignoring your edit or leaving a level-four. For your convenience, these are the four in the class I chose from: {{Uw-disruptive1}}, {{Uw-disruptive2}}, {{Uw-disruptive3}} and {{Uw-disrupt4}} although there are others I could have relied on. Congratulations! You've racked-up four warnings in less than a month and with only eight edits to your credit. Walter Görlitz (talk) 04:58, 3 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It's serial-reverters such as yourself that make it impossible to keep Wikipedia factual and up to date.

I have moved this tripe from my talk page. First, it's "case in point". Second, none of those reference Schweinsteiger directly. If you want to change the content, change the story at http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/08/01/bastian-schweinsteigers-brother-appears-to-accuse-man-utd-manag/ that clearly calls it "United’s Under-21 team". So the reporter got it wrong. Shoot the reporter, not editors who rely on the story. Alternately, find a source that correctly calls it the U-23 team. Alternately, change the word to simply read "junior team". Alternately, apply a {{sic}} template to indicate the error. So many possibilities, but your poor choice really was not appropriate.
And of course, it only addressed one of your two problems with your change to the article.
And the big edit notice on my talk page that suggests that you respond here and leave a talk back template was completely ignored. I'm not sure why you just don't get how to edit. Walter Görlitz (talk) 17:04, 5 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
