If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Brian Clarke (artist), you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. Nomoskedasticity (talk) 12:44, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did to Brian Clarke (artist). Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Nomoskedasticity (talk) 12:57, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Dont Forget The Lamb requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. This is your last warning. You will be blocked from editing the next time you add inappropriate external links, as you did with this edit to Brian Clarke (artist). -sesuPRIME 13:20, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Guys, please take it easy. Transilluminate is obviously trying to add more info to the Brian Clarke (artist) article but is probably going about it the wrong way. Transilluminate, can you please stop so we can discuss your additions here? --NeilN talkcontribs 13:30, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Probably"?? Anyway he has taken no notice... Nomoskedasticity (talk) 14:20, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

According to posts elsewhere, this is a role account for employees of Brian Clarke; they requested protection for the article on him so that only they could edit the article! I've blocked the account. --Orange Mike | Talk 15:59, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Brian Clarke (artist)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Brian Clarke (artist), is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you.. Also watch out for peacock terms. Thanks Tiggerjay (talk) 22:24, 7 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. In response to this which you just posted I must say that we can't fulfil your request. Pages aren't owned by anyone here... we work with consensus, so if there are some changes that others are objecting to I ask you to inquire on the talk page of the article, and discuss it with others until an agreement is reached. See also WP:COI, though. Thanks -- Mentifisto 10:52, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Francis Bacon reference does not show that Clarke is sole executor of the estate. Please provide the exact link. --NeilN talkcontribs 13:07, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Multiple consecutive edits

Hello and thanks for your contributions. It makes it easier for people to collaborate with you on articles if you make use of the Show preview function and try to minimize the number of saves per edit session. Here is some guidance regarding this: Help:Show_preview. Thanks. Eric talk 14:43, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked as a role account for employees of Brian Clarke (artist)

Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended or used for publicity and/or promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.

Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. You have violated one or more of our rules, including rules against adding spam links, posting advertisements, using Wikipedia for promotion, and editing inappropriately with a conflict of interest. Although Wikipedia has a great many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, it is considered inappropriate for such groups to use Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not. See Wikipedia:FAQ/Organization for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. See Wikipedia:Conflict of interest for the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, or organization. If this does not fit in with your goals here, you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

What can I do now?

If you do intend to make contributions that are in line with Wikipedia's policies, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} below this message box.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
See also Wikipedia:Appealing a block for more information.
