Notability

Hi Snicklin, and welcome to Wikipedia.

I noticed a number of the new articles you have created, mostly concerning streets in a housing estate in Tamworth. One of the considerations we have to make here on Wikipedia is as to the 'notability' of the subject matter. In other words, the articles have to be of interest to a reasonable amount of people. A good criterion is "would this article have a place in a paper-based encyclopedia?". Most streets would therefore not warrant an article, unless they are famous ones, such as Oxford Street, Park Lane, Broadway, and so on.

Articles that don't meet the general criteria, including notability, tend to get deleted before too long. I wouldn't want any new WP editor to be spending time creating in good faith articles that only get removed in short order.

With this in mind, I would suggest that you consider the notability of your subject matter before creating new articles. You can leave me a message on my talk page.

There is a good WP article on this subject at Non-notable.

The above is a bit vague. I will be specific: I think that neither Malham Road nor Pennine Way, Stonydelph, Tamworth, Staffordshire would survive an AfD vote. I suggest you merge their content into Stonydelph and convert them to redirects. -- RHaworth 01:53, 2 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Drop this strange based in - just say the station is 2 km south of Tamworth. -- RHaworth 02:44, 2 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Wilnecote (Staffordshire) railway station

Hi Snicklin. Are you sure this station has only one track? It's on the main Derby-Bristol line. Also according to my track diagrams it has two. Chevin 13:56, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
