License tagging for Image:Kris Holm Balancing.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Kris Holm Balancing.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 23:09, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:KHU moment lg.jpg. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably ber use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisht questions page]]. Thank you. — Carl (CBM · talk) 23:04, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kris Holm images

I noticed that you got permission from Kris Holm to use these on Wikipedia. We care a lot about having images that other users can reuse freely. So images like that are only accepted if they are released under a free license (the idea is that someone else could photograph Kris Holm and release the photos under a free license, so as nonfree images they are "replaceable" with free images). If you are still in contact with Kris Holm, you could ask him to release the image under a free license, such as CC-BY-SA. If he agrees to a free license, we can definitely use the images here. I tagged ths images as replaceable, but they will not be deleted for some time, and I would be glad to extend the deadline to give you time to contact Kris Holm if you need extra time. — Carl (CBM · talk) 23:10, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
