Information icon Hello, ReeceIzra. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Oxfordwang (talk) 16:05, 24 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Reece Izra

Hello ReeceIzra,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Reece Izra for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Alexbacho (talk) 16:26, 24 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 16:55, 24 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Reece Izra

You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

The article Reece Izra has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, individual animal, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. JohnCD (talk) 17:45, 24 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. Wikipedia is not a place for people or companies to tell the world about themselves.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you. I'm sorry, but you haven't understood what Wikipedia is. This is partly our fault, because we do not make clear at sign-on time what it is, and more importantly what it is not.

So, like many people, you think that the process for setting up a business, after having the idea, goes: 1. Get on Facebook 2. Get on Instagram 3. Get on Wikipedia 4. Get on Twitter... Sorry, but Wikipedia is the odd one out there. It is not a social-networking site for people or organizations to tell the world about themselves. It is quite different, a project to build an encyclopedia, so:

  • Accounts are for individuals only, who are here to help build an encyclopedia, and are personally responsible for them. Company or group accounts are not permitted - among other reasons, because their intent is invariably promotional.
  • In order to maintain a WP:Neutral point of view people are strongly discouraged from writing about themselves or their own affairs, and may only do so under restrictive rules, see the guideline Wikipedia:Conflict of interest
  • It is selective about subjects for articles, with an inclusion criterion called Wikipedia:Notability, which is not a matter of opinion but has to be demonstrated by references showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Myspace, Facebook, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website, affiliated ones and anything based on press releases. The test is, have people not connected with the subject thought it significant enough to write substantial comment about? See WP:Notability (summary).
That test is a way to decide whether a subject is of enough general interest to be included, and also ensures that there are independent sources on which to base an article because, as I said before, Wikipedia is not just a notice-board for companies, or people, tell their own story.

As your business is barely off the ground, there is no chance that the necessary range and depth of independent coverage will be available yet - your article cited only your own Facebook page, set up three days ago. That is the reason for deletion, not "promotion". A very experienced Wikipedian has this advice at User:Uncle G/On notability#Writing about subjects close to you:

When writing about subjects that are close to you, don't use your own personal knowledge of the subject, and don't cite yourself, your web site, or the subject's web site. Instead, use what is written about the subject by other people, independently, as your sources. Cite those sources in your very first edit. If you don't have such sources, don't write.

If you consider that, you will understand that it is much too soon for an article. So, sorry again, but put your energy into developing your business, not into trying to get onto Wikipedia, and when it has taken off someone else will probably be interested enough to write about it.
