Lead

What do we need the Overview section for? It summarizes the article, which is something the lead is supposed to do. Rau's Speak Page 04:38, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think the lead will be fine. We'll need to include a breif series plot (just a few sentences) and we should also explain about the "Books / Chapters" thing. Blackngold29 04:41, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think I explained it okay, might need some tweaking. I'll write up a plot. Rau's Speak Page 04:45, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, looks good. Just don't make the plot too long, it's already in the season articles, no sense in re-writing it out. Blackngold29 04:52, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
How's that? I think it focuses too much on Aang, but that might just be me. Rau's Speak Page 05:02, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well he is the main character of the whole thing. I think you should explain about the elements: something like "sets out to master the four elements of Air, Water, Earth, and Fire." Hopefully that'll help people understand about the books more. Blackngold29 05:06, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I tweaked it to mention that the books get their names from the four elements, and later that Aang must master the elements. I also included a link to the Bending article. Is this enough? Oh, and I remembered about the copyrighted images, after you removed it. Sorry bout that. Rau's Speak Page 05:15, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I like it. I think we can start to source the lead now, we can use the same sources from the seasons' articles. Blackngold29 05:23, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
For what, the only things sourced in the leads of them are awards and things like that. I guess for DVD's we could use the websites provided. Rau's Speak Page 05:46, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is it really accurate to say it premiered with a one hour show? It looks like they just aired the first two episodes back to back. Blackngold29 20:05, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

They did. They played it as "The Avatar Returns" similar to how the did "Secret of the Fire Nation" or "The Fury of Aang." It still gets played on Nicktoons Network as a movie every now and then. Rau's Speak Page 20:50, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Episodes

I like how the Smallville list is formatted. Unfortunatley, we'll have to completely redo all 61 of our episodes to match. I think we should eliminate the show recaps because they do just repeat the same info that can be found on the regular season pages. Thoughts? Blackngold29 05:39, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

We wouldn't have to redo it. Although, I don't know where to put the codes to make the colors tile like that, but it wouldn't be hard... gimmie a minute. Rau's Speak Page 05:46, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Nevermind, one look at the code and I get what you meant. Rau's Speak Page 05:47, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm gonna do Season one right now. Give me a while, I'll see what I can do. Blackngold29 05:56, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, I look forward to it. Rau's Speak Page 06:00, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think it looks great. -- Chickenmonkey X  sign?  06:32, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I'm gonna sleep now, but I'll have the last two done within 24 hours, probably sooner. That was a good deal of work for one night, Good job! Blackngold29 06:45, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, I barely did anything. You and Rau J were the driving force behind this editing machine. Good work to the two of you. -- Chickenmonkey X  sign?  06:50, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm gonna do the other two, I'm bored and seeing season one got me kinda giddy. I really like how it looks. Rau's Speak Page 18:31, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Done them. What else is there? Rau's Speak Page 19:46, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
They look awesome. We have to source the lead. Blackngold29 19:55, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I believe all you must do with the lead is: state that this is an episode list for Avatar: The Last Airbender, supply a succinct plot summary of the show, and briefly describe what's in the article. You don't necessarily have to source the lead if the information it contains is sourced later in the article. That is, if you say something like "the episodes were released on dvd" you don't have to source that in the lead if it's sourced later in the article where the dvds are talked about in more detail. I believe, the only time you have to source the lead is if it contains information which stands a good chance of being challenged. That is, if you say something like "the show is the best ever"; that would have to be sourced. I don't think the lead for this article should contain information that could be challenged.
Great job, you two. It looks great. -- Chickenmonkey X  sign?  20:18, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Not much left then. Rau's Speak Page 20:26, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Apply

I think it's ready. If no one has any objections, I think it should be moved to the list page. Rau's Speak Page 23:15, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'd say so. There's probably some tiny edits that could be made, but there's no reason to leave it here and continue nitpicking it to death. Article's almost never end up completely perfect, anyway.
Also, I added the episode numbers for each season. I'm pretty sure it's the way to go, but it could be fine without that. -- Chickenmonkey X  sign?  23:35, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The paragraph under "Series overview" does need entirely sourced. Especially things like "...meant to be humorous". Blackngold29 00:59, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Can we just take that paragraph out? They aren't episodes, so they shouldn't really be on the "list of episodes". Plus it is poorly written and still no sources. Objections? Blackngold29 01:35, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I assume we could, I don't see a reason to keep them. But really, the videos and their airdates are the sources for that section. I got caught up in something, but I can write sources for them. Rau's Speak Page 01:49, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
And we should probably be on the articles talk page now. Rau's Speak Page 01:53, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
