Most of the R&D work on AUV is done in the private sector. Bluefin does an enormous amount and on many fronts they are advancing the state of the technology. To not include a link to Bluefin in a description of AUVs is simply wrong. The website has a weath of pictures and video that are not included in wikipedia and would be of interest for anyone researching this issue.

Why are you against links to the private sector? This is the part of the economy that provides for most of the things that we humans need.

For the reccord I sold my stake in Bluefin in 2005 so I personally do no longer benefit from any upside that might result from a mention in Wikipedia. Not that I believe there is an upside for the company. As much as I like Wikipedia I don't think you come here to buy a multi-million dollar piece of high tech gear.

Why did you remove the Bluefin link and not the Hugin link? Why remove commercial links at all?

Most of the AUV development happens in commercial companies, Bluefin with its rich history dating back to the beginning of the MIT AUV lab was instrumental in starting the industry.

I agree that Wikipedia should be shielded from crash commercialisme and I am certainly not neutral when it comes to Bluefin but but in this case a link to a highly informative website seems reasonable. For the reccord, did write a fair part of the article and contributed both pictures without mentioning Bluefin in the main text.
