Welcome

Hello, Pjcrook, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that you made helpful contributions to an article that appears to be about yourself. I didn't see anything problematic in your edits---quite the contrary, your edits were very helpful!

:)

In the future, you may wish to consider proposing changes to the article on its talk page, and allowing another editor to implement them. If nobody responds, please alert me, and I shall try to help you as soon as possible. Of course, you should feel free to correct any egregious errors immediately; Wikipedia's Biography of Living Persons policy states that anything contentious and unreferenced about a living person must be deleted immediately. Of course, if you propose a change and nobody objects in a few days or a week, then feel free to implement the change yourself! :)

(Wikipedia has a readable WP:Conflict of interest policy which explains my suggestions in more detail, I'll note.)

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!

Sincerely and with admiration,  Kiefer.Wolfowitz 18:36, 7 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Article P J Crook

Dear Pjcrook:

I removed some material from the article P J Crook, because it seemed to be too close to the West Royal [...] biography of P J Crook. Wikipedia's copyright and fair use policies prohibit our cut-and-pasting material from other sources, when they lack a Creative Commons license (e.g. 3.0 with SA and BY stipulations).

In this case, you cited the source clearly, so that your edits were obviously good-faith. I shall try to alert friends with expertise and interest in painting about your article, and ask them to help expand it.

Sincerely,  Kiefer.Wolfowitz 18:52, 7 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Paintings and picture of the artist

Hi again!

The painter P J Crook's art appears as "fair use" illustration (often without identification as her art or without references) for articles on individual King Crimson albums. Crook's images are collected in the "Category" of album covers for King Crimson; this "category" is configured not to display the images, to comply with fair-use policies and avoid copyright infringement.

A picture of the artist or an image of one of her paintings would enliven her article on Wikipedia. For example, Wikipedia could be authorized to use one of her press images as "fair use" images; Wikipedia could also accept a donation to the public domain).

Sincerely,  Kiefer.Wolfowitz 19:26, 7 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
