Hi Perb68:

It doesn't help to add more info about Harald Edelstam to the article. Yes, he is notable, but the article needs references to reliable sources to demonstrate that the prize is notable. That means newspaper articles or opinion columns, mentions in books, mentions in magazines or scholarly journals, tv programs that you can show discussed it. The Edelstam Foundation's own website does not count for establishing notability, and the fact that Edelstam himself is notable doesn't make the prize notable. Nor does it being interesting. Wikipedia defines notability specifically as: significant mention in several reliable independent sources. Blogs don't count unless they are on the sites of newspapers or TV stations, written by their journalists. Nor do passing mentions. And that's the only kind of material I am finding in an on-line search: material from the foundation itself, very short mentions, and blogs. You can use short mentions and the Foundation's own site to support information in the article. But to prove the topic is 'notable you need reliable sources mentioning it more than briefly - and that's what it will take to get the article kept. So if you know where to find that kind of coverage, that's what you need to add. --Yngvadottir (talk) 08:21, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • In addition to what Yngvadottir said above, I'd like to point out that interwiki links should point to articles about the same topic on other foreign language wikipedias -- not different ones. I have therefore removed the interwiki links from the "The Edelstam prize" article since they were all pointing to foreign articles about Harald Edelstam, and not to articles about the prize. I have also updated the categories, added sections, and done some preliminary linking. Good luck with your article. --Mûĸĸâĸûĸâĸû (blah?) 20:16, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi all, thanks for your comments, I'm getting a hang of it soon. Still not sure how to connect the different languages as the Prize name in Swedish is different. Perb68 (talk) 21:54, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You can't do an interwiki unless there is a sv.wikipedia artiole on the prize; the article on Harald Edelstam has the interwiki link to that article there. Is there a sv.wikipedia article on the prize?? If so, what's its title? sv:Edelstampriset doesn't exist. --Yngvadottir (talk) 17:33, 24 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Caroline Edelstam has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I've noticed that you have been adding your signature to some of your edits to articles, such as the edit you made to Caroline Edelstam. This is a common mistake to make and has probably already been corrected. There is no need to sign your edits to article content, as the article's edit history serves the function of attributing contributions, so you only need to use your signature to make discussions more readable, such as on article talk pages or project pages such as the Village Pump. If you would like further information about distinguishing types of pages, please see What is an article?. Again, thank you for contributing, and enjoy your Wikipedia experience! Thank you.
