Paul Moss. ok so I am Paul Moss and I would love to work with you, I have massive energy for humanity, and lots to contribute. I really cant be bothered arguing much, it hasnt succeeded in the past, so lets just move ahead, together, for the benefit of all.

Background. In a bizarre twist of fate, being preoccupied with wikipedia as an editor a few years back was the time soak that held me back from being an artist; as soon as I gave up massive editing (under user:mozasaur) I received some commissions, and I created events, and delivered exhibitions and installations that achieved the very notability verification that I had thought that I had to fight for.

I have delivered a massive array of illustrations to this collective work, mostly about New Zealand and our geography and history, natural subjects, music and environment. I have significantly more to give, but the process of giving images is time consuming and must wait until I am past my current frenetic work and artist phase..

Notability. I must admit to wondering about the maxim; 'if you are notable then someone will write about you' many times. I have been written about for decades, but even the 1 million cirrculation of the Sydney Morning Herald article about me wasnt considered enough, so exactly what is enough?

The Threshold - what is it? Is the article by the Dominion Post enough? The several articles by the Kapi Mana News? Is having images published in a large volume book enough? (including illustrating the foreword and the authors face on the back cover, and the book won Best Design, and is our national reference work on Astronomy for education)? Is the article about me in D-Scene enough? Is having my image published in Positive Living enough? (that paper went to every doctors waiting room and elderly rest home in New Zealand). Having images published on NASA's SpaceWeather.com and MetVUW.com didnt seem to be good enough.

And then is having an art installation at significant art galleries enough? how about NZ's first art gallery, the Dunedin Public Art Gallery? or our first radio station and recording studios that became the first television studios, and now exists as the University of Auckland's Art Gallery, the Gus Fisher Gallery. Will having an installation at Galatos, for the Auckland Fringe Festival of the Arts 2009 be enough? And how about having an installation at the New Zealand Film Archive for 25 days running 24/7 to the public? it's currently 7 days into that period (Dec 7th). And then is an exhibition at Te Rauparaha Arena relevant?

Outcomes. My belief is that the people who deleted me as a person should be the people that take that info and restore me as a person. I said at the time it was only a matter of time before the relevant info became verifiable, but I witnessed a witch hunt style of cursory examination and hanging.

I accept that being a wikipedia editor creates all kinds of complexities, and that makes it difficult for some to figure it out, but then I could have stayed anonymous as an editor, like so many.. its simply not my style.

Belief. I believed that the existing newspaper articles about me were enough, so what happened?

In my view, for wikipedia to have credibilty, and rapid expansion, we must clean up the relationships between editors, and arrange a fix cycle for the damage done. I see that over a $NZmillion has been donated to make it easier to write articles. will that be wasted by the cutting and fighting? I hope not.

an age old maxim is that hope is often more appropriate than belief
