Star Model B

Thank you very much for your additions to the Star Model B page. Just one thing that is up for debate it seems. You have the Star Model B having an 8 round magazine, however I was under the understanding that it was just the Star BM (Compact model) with an 8 round magazine and the full size holds 9 rounds. --AdAstra2009 (talk) 20:49, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Howdy, and anytime (I was surprised to see the B get its own page, I'm guessing the other Stars will soon). For reference, I myself own a Model B (1943, Bulgarian contract/Soviet refurb if you're curious, it's pretty cool), so I've actually been interested in these myself.
From what I'm personally aware, both with the two magazines I own as well as what I've seen online cia forums, YT videos, etc, the mags hold 8. The full size Model B is about the same size as a US-made 1911A1 (pic shows a Super B but Super and original Bs are also the same size), as are the mags, so I'm assuming it's only one extra round gained since 9mm is smaller. I'm guessing you might be thinking of the Star being able to hold 8+1 in the chamber (kind of like how the US guns hold 7+1, which gets mistaken for 8 in a mag).

Since you have first hand knowledge it seems I'll leave it alone. Though I plan on buying one myself at some point, I already have a BM which is the compact....maybe if I find it holds 9 in the mag myself I'll change it lol. But yes the full size Star Model B definitely deserves its own page, it has a respectable historical record though not as well known as other 20th century Handguns. I'm always looking to expand internet encyclopedic knowledge of guns. Take care.-AdAstra2009 (talk) AdAstra2009 (talk) 17:17, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
