Help with image

{{helpme}} Thanks for the welcome :)! Could you (or someone else) help me with a question please? I just created an entry about "Sonja Lahnstein-Kandel" and added an image of her. But - the image was immediately deleted, because the copyright was not right. I work for Lahnstein and I personally know the photographer who created the image. She allowed me to put in on Wikipedia. Could someone tell me, what to write at the copyright page of the image, so it will not be deleted? Thanx :)!

Oh crikey, image rights are a nightmare. To be honest, the easiest thing would be for the photographer themselves to upload the image, as it cuts the issues down very nicely. Any chance of that? I also suggest it's uploaded to Commons, not Wikipedia, so all the mediawiki sites can easily make use of it. --Dweller (talk) 12:32, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
(e/c) There are only two types of images allowed, those that are permitted for limited specific purposes as fair use (not applicable to you), and those that are licensed under a free license (such as the GFDL and/or an acceptable Creative Commons license) or that are released into the public domain (no copyright). The image you uploaded cannot be used as you licensed it as copyright retained but permission given for use on Wikipedia. That is wholy incompatible with our image policy. The images we use which are not fair use must be freely redistributable, meaning people must be able to take the image and use it somewhere else other than Wikipedia. See Wikipedia:Image use policy.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 12:37, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I shall scream if I edit conflict one more time on this page. This is ridiculous.
Hello there. You (and the photographer) will likely need to read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. Basically, your friend is going to need to release the photograph under a free license or be willing to allow the image to be used by others provided certain basic conditions are met. Please be aware that giving permission for the image to be used on Wikipedia specifically is not sufficient. Many of our pages are mirrored elsewhere, and as anyone is allowed to use our content for any purpose, such a restriction is not acceptable. This would be much easier if you could convince your friend to create an account and upload the image herself, however if she isn't willing to do that, she may (probably will) need to email the Wikimedia Foundation at permissions-en AT wikimedia DOT org to confirm that she is the owner of the image and is allowing it to be released under license X. I know it's very complicated, but we unfortunately have to take copyright very seriously here for legal reasons, and can't afford to slip up anywhere. If you need more help, feel free to let me know on my talk page, ask at the Wikipedia:Image copyright help desk, or simply put up another helpme. Happy editing! The article Sonja Lahnstein-Kandel has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Little indication of notability - few reliable sources independent of the subject easily found.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. - Jarry1250 [Who?
