Notability of Planet Hope

A tag has been placed on Planet Hope, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Leebo86 00:25, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please initiate any further discussion about the Planet Hope article on its talk page. Thank you. Leebo86 00:53, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your article, Planet Hope

Thank you for your contribution to Wikipedia! I wholeheartedly apologise for the behaviour of other people who appear to want to see your article deleted. I am of the opinion that your article has a perfectly good place on Wikipedia. Thank you for not letting the first deletion discourage you from reposting it! In the long run, Wikipedia will benefit from your contribution. I hope that you will enjoy staying around! :) — Timwi 15:02, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Logo PH.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Logo PH.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Hi Morales, I am just responding to your image question on my talk page. Logos are fine to upload. They are considered "fair use". This means upload it to Wikipedia, but not to Wikimedia Commons. In other words, just click the "Upload file" link on the sidebar in Wikipedia. Choose the copyright tag "logo" or whatever it's called, from the drop-down menu. Then include the image on the page! If you want, let me know when you've uploaded it and I'll check it. Cheers, Colin MacLaurin 01:28, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

Hi Morales,

Thanks for your greeting. There certainly are other Adventists working on Wikipedia! In fact there is a WikiProject for all users who would like to assist in improving Seventh-day Adventist related articles: WP:SDA. Feel free to join. At the moment, most editors are from Australia or the U.S., so we would appreciate some more international representation. (I understand that Puerto Rico has close ties to the U.S., but it seems culturally different)

I found the Planet Hope article interesting, as it is good to hear what other young people are doing around the world! Cheers, Colin MacLaurin 05:05, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just noticed that you have already joined our WikiProject. Welcome aboard! Colin MacLaurin 05:10, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I read the Medical Cadet Corps article - good work! I hadn't heard of them before, but they seem important. I can see that you are learning the Wiki code well. Here's one hint: you can "pipe" links so that where they link to is different from the text on the screen. For example: Armed Forces links to a music article, but Armed Forces actually links to the article "Military"!

Are you a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church? If so, I would be interested to know what the church is like in Puerto Rico. Are you a young person? God bless you, Colin MacLaurin 12:52, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Adventist image

Morales,

I agree with you that a new image would be better. The only catch is that it must be a free use or public domain image, not a "fair use" image. (Fair use images cannot be used on template). See also Wikipedia:Image use policy. The main example is that the official church logo cannot be used, as it comes under "fair use". If you think you have a better image, please discuss it on a relevant talk page first, but a new suggestion would be welcome. God bless you, Colin MacLaurin 05:22, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Widescreen_086.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Fair use rationale for Image:Logo transparente.png

Thanks for uploading Image:Logo transparente.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Butseriouslyfolks 23:55, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free use disputed for Image:MCC coat of arms.jpg

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:MCC coat of arms.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:25, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Motto of the day

Hello, I notice you're using one of the {{motd}} templates, run by Wikipedia:Motto of the day. You may have noticed that some of the mottos recently have been followed by a date from 2006, or on occasion simply "Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia". The reason for this is that Motto of the day is in some very serious need of help. Participation in the project, which has never been especially high, has dropped considerably over this past summer, to the point we have had several days where no motto was scheduled to appear at all. Over the past several weeks, I've been the only editor scheduling mottos at all, but there aren't enough comments on some of these mottos to justify their use. If we do not get some help - and soon - your daily mottos will stop. In order for us to continue updating these templates for you, we need your help.

When you get a chance between your normal editing, could you stop by our nominations page and leave a few comments on some of the mottos there, especially those that do not have any comments yet? This works very simply; you read a motto, decide whether or not you like it, and post your opinion just below the motto. That's it - no experience required, just an idea of what you personally like and what you feel reflects Wikipedia and its community. If you do have past experience with the project, then please close some of the older nominations once they've got a decent consensus going. There are directions on the nominations page on how to do this.

If you have any questions, please let me know, or post on the project's talk page. I'm looking forward to reading your comments on the suggested mottos, and any additional suggestions you'd like to make. Until then, happy editing! Hersfold (t/a/c) 02:51, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Executive Airlines photo request

Hello! Do you take photographs for Wikipedia? If so, would you mind fulfilling a photo request? I would like to have a photograph of Executive Airlines's headquarters, which should be in or around San Juan. Thanks WhisperToMe (talk) 18:38, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Logo transparente.png

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Logo transparente.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:37, 30 September 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 16:37, 30 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Luis munet.JPG

Thanks for uploading File:Luis munet.JPG. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MBisanz talk 04:15, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Motto of the Day Help Request April 2014

Motto of the Day (WP:MOTD) is in a state of emergency and really needs your help! There are not enough editors who are reviewing or nominating mottos at Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/In review, and this probably means that you will notice a red link or “This space for rent” as our mottos for the next weeks and months.

Please take a moment to review the nominations and nominate your own new mottos at Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/In review and Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/'Specials. Any help would be appreciated! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 09:13, 29 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This message has been sent by pjoef on behalf of Motto of the Day to all editors of the English Wikipedia who are showing MOTD's templates on their pages, and to all the participants to MOTD: (page, template, and category).
Notice

The file File:Evoca invoca provoca.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Uploaded for Planet Hope. No other use.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 05:47, 2 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
