Speedy deletion nomination of Betagi

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Betagi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. February 2017

Hello, I'm Excirial. I noticed that in this edit to Bakoliya Thana, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Excirial (Contact me,Contribs) 20:06, 21 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Bakoliya Thana, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. Thank you. Redirected article

Welcome to Wikipedia. Thanks for creating the article, Bakolia Thana. However, there already is an article on that topic, Bakoliya Thana, so your article was redirected to the existing one. Please take advantage of the search feature to find similar-named articles before creating them in the future—and feel free to redirect alternate spellings of existing articles. Thanks.

The naming of articles about places in Bangladesh is governed by WP:BDPLACE. It's possible that some thana articles don't follow the guideline, in which case they may be moved to the name that does follow the guideline. --Worldbruce (talk) 15:04, 23 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Mkamal599. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Betagee Grammar School, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

The article had a lot of content that is the type of info that might be found on a social media page or web page for the school, but is not encyclopedic content. See Azimpur Girls' High School for the type of content - not a perfect example (not all the content is cited, etc.) - but it's an example.

I also tagged the article as needing sources - which is helpful to prove notability for this school. If there aren't sources for the content, it's not notable.

See reliable sources, independent, and WP:Secondary sources for the types of sources that should be used. Examples include newspapers, books, magazines.—CaroleHenson(talk) 22:43, 4 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
