Moved to userspace

Hi! I moved the article you created to User:Markrune/Naked Lunch (UK band) so you can work on addressing the issues brought up by the other editor. The problem is that we have no coverage in reliable sources (WP:RS) to show that this band is notable. Reliable sources are things such as reviews and coverage about the band in things such as newspapers, notable music websites, or notable magazines. Things such as album covers or personal interviews with the band are not usable as reliable sources. The album is seen as a WP:PRIMARY source and the problem with information you provide is that we can't verify how reliable of a source you are. I don't mean that to sound like I'm trying to say that you'd deliberately provide wrong information, but Wikipedia has very strict standards about showing notability and verifying sources. Word of mouth simply isn't enough. I have more about notability standards and such here, if you're interested.

I also would recommend against posting sentences such as "It was an interesting evening.....", as that's not written in a manner that's considered to be encyclopedic. Articles must be written neutrally and in an encyclopedic tone. Any other format just isn't acceptable. I know that's strict, but it has to fall within the guidelines for all of the articles here. Another thing I recommend is that you include information such as the band members' names. You've got to remember that incoming editors will likely not be familiar with the band and will want to know these basic things.

In any case, I moved it to your userspace so you can have more time to work on it at your leisure. I just have to warn you that often times it's nearly impossible to find coverage for niche bands, especially those that were from the pre-internet era. I recommend that you look into getting help from Wikipedia:WikiProject Music, a group that's devoted to improving music related pages. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:32, 12 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Hard Corps (English band) may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "{}"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • Punk, EBM, Classics and Rarities 80-89 |publisher=Strut-records.com |date= |accessdate=2014-03-06}

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Hard Corps (English band), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Daniel Miller (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Articles require reliable, independent sources. Do not remove the PROD template until these have been suppled. The band's website and Facebook page do not count. Thank you. Harry the Dog WOOF 11:03, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Can I suggest you move this to your sandbox and work on it there. Right now it smacks of a fanboi promo stuff with promotional "refs". This band is probably not notable at the moment. You should probably wait until it has had more (some) coverage in reliable sources. Harry the Dog WOOF 11:31, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Harry the Dirty Dog. I noticed that you made a change to an article, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Please read up on what is and is not a reliable source. Nothing you have added so far is reliable or supports notability. As I have said before, you would be better off moving this to your sandbox to work on at leisure and then bring it back to mainspace when it is ready. But frankly it seems this band is too new to be covered in reliable sources. Notability is not inherited, so the band itself is not notable just because one of its members is. Message on my talk page

Hello, Markrune. You have new messages at Harry the Dirty Dog's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Ok will see what the other prod says, at least the current page is up to date as far as I am concerned now and has the links from Music week and Louder Than War, which I think are the most robust references. As I said I am only trying to provide an onward link to Rachel Stamp page. I did not think it appropriate to just add this info to that page as it is a separate musical projet and from my experience with bands - the other members of the former band can get a bit upset about this. Do not remove the prod yourself

The references you have supplied are still not good enough IMO. Another editor will review the prod and will come to a view one way or another. Harry the Dog WOOF 16:20, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
