Hello, I'm Adakiko. I noticed that in this edit to Frederick Charles, Duke of Württemberg-Winnental, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Adakiko (talk) 09:20, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to William Frederick, Margrave of Brandenburg-Ansbach, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you would like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. Marie of Mecklenburg-Güstrow moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Marie of Mecklenburg-Güstrow, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. PRAXIDICAE🌈 14:44, 11 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Do not move this or any other draft without adequate sourcing again - Wikia and other "pedias" cannot ever be used. PRAXIDICAE🌈 14:45, 11 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Is it that the page is considered a "draft" for lacking sources? Which you just deleted? Libra Justin (talk) 15:01, 11 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It's in draft space for you to work on and add sources per WP:V and to establish notability based on sources. AKA not fandom and geneology sites. PRAXIDICAE🌈 15:03, 11 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thomas Butler, 6th Earl of Ossory

Dear Libra Justin. Thank you for your intervention on the article Thomas Butler, 6th Earl of Ossory. You claim you "fixed the image". What you did is you deleted the crop that made the image on the infobox zoom in to show the face in ID-photo fashion. The entire uncropped appears further down in the text. Now we have the entire portrait twice: once in the infobox and once in the text. How is this an improvement? What mistake did you fix? Did you somewhere find a Wikipedia policy or guideline that prescribes this "fix"? Best regards, Johannes Schade (talk) 07:28, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

We do not need his face shown in what you called, "ID-photo" fashion. What makes you think the image of the individual should show nothing more than his face? What mistake do you think I DIDN'T fix? Which Wikipedia policy or guideline did you find that explains why the image should be altered this way? Best regards, Libra Justin Libra Justin (talk) 07:54, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Libra Justice. Indeed, as you pointed out: nothing in Wikipedia demands that the face of a biographical subject should be shown in ID-photo fashion. I am not an very experienced editor and should perhaps have formulated my remark more politely. Please accept my apologies. I just naïvely thought that giving a zoom-in to better show his face in addition to showing the entire portrait further down would illustrate the subject better. Is not his face a bit small when the entire portrait is shown in the infobox? Are not people often identified by their faces? I have have given that treatment to several portraits of historical biographies. I now looked up in MOS:IMAGE and found that cropping for such a purpose seems to be explicitly allowed. The MOS says (MOS:IMAGE#Editing images) "An image's utility or quality may be improved by cropping (to focus on the relevant portion)". Of course "Images should not be changed in ways that materially mislead the viewer." (MOS:IMAGE#Editing images). I think I should have added a caption that says the image is cropped. Should you not have deleted the image in the text to avoid dup;lication after removing the crop? With best regards, Johannes Schade (talk) 21:04, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I accept your apology. I have looked up MOS:IMAGE and found that such adjustment you made is in fact allowed. In my opinion, the original, uncropped image is already suitable, but I acknowledge the purpose of you cropping the image as ID-photo fashion and yes, adding a captain explaining it would definitely help. Best regards, Libra Justin (talk) 03:34, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
