Thanks Old Moonraker (and JoshuaZ Snalwibme, Plumbago) - I appreciate your comments, which I have just discovered. I am new to Wikipedia editing. I will read the Wiki page on spam and study the Talk and Discussion facilities, etc. There are some things I think are significant and worth adding to the Wikipedia Richard Dawkins entry, but I will try and do it in an appropriate way.

I have been using Wikipedia virtually daily for several years, but previously have rarely made editing changes other than fixing occasional typos. I was not aware of the 'history' page with your comments. My repeated attempts to make the same change were partly due to unfamiliarity.

Welcome

You are very welcome as a new editor of Wkipedia. Please do have a look at the new user's page, here. The Dawkins page isn't typical: it's very closely monitored in an attempt (not always successful) to keep a neutral perspective on a potentially controversial subject.

The easiest way to sign your name on a talk page, by the way, is by using four tildes, like this: ~~~~. All the best. --Old Moonraker 11:11, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Lambo - I actually came here to your talk page in a slightly grumply mood after looking at what had been going on (I have that article on my watchlist), but I understand now after reading the exchange here. Welcome aboard! Now that you're finding your way to make more edits, feel free to ask me anything about how it all works if you ever need help - I may not know the answer, but ask anyway. :) These other fine people who've come to your page or reverted your edits would also doubtless be keen to help you through the maze of policies etc. Metamagician3000 11:29, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
