THE OMBIJAH

Charles Ibrahim Ombijah was born in September,1979 at his maternal aunt house in Uyoma Kobong(Rarieda Consttituency),North Luo Nyanza. His maternal grandmother,Mikal nya Makaumu named him 'Ambudo wuo Radol and also after veteran uncle, 'Ajigo wuon Obange'. He was promptly named 'Charles Ajigo' before arrival of his father, who renamed him a fresh in Seme as 'Patrick Abuya'. Naming controversy ensued that led his paternal grandfather to name him after himself as 'Muga wuon Ojino' as per traditions that followed ancestral leadership blessings to be benefactor of 'Kombija clan'. Its a global phenomenon that Luo people of Seme are very proud lot due to academic persuit per square kilometre, then in some years befor 1990, the young Luo was enrolled to study at Alwala Primary School,in South West Seme. He was registered under 'Charles Ajigo' but controversy of baptism added rather Islamic twang'Ibrahim' by an Anglican Pastor Ogada of Ngere Parish(1988).He was popularly known as 'Charles Ibrahim during both his studies at Kadika Primary School and Migori Primary School in Soth Nyanza. Notable teachers who shaped his life were Mr.Odum at Kadika Primary School, Mr.Odum was a man blessed with discerning wisdom that proved to be greater than local history at the time, this prompted Mr.Chumbe of Kadika Secondary School to lobby for 'Charles Ibrahim'to get admitted at a school that was popular for strict discipline enforced by Mr.Karuru and Mrs.Rombo. Mrs.Rombo was both Maths and English teacher who invoked motherly respect and love despite her painfall spanks! Mr.Karuri was great teacher who had too much expectation on young Luo kids, despite the fact that he was from Kikuyu tribe, but he always had a point, he insisted name 'Charles Ibrahim' is fake an innapriopriate for skinny but intelligent young Luo lad..For history purpose, Mr.Karuri was pure bully from hell..'Charles Ibrahim'was effectively transfered to more populouse Migori Primary School under watchful eye of Mr.Randeny and a maths teacher..Mr.Godon! So in 1995 January, 'Charles Ibrahim' added another Ombijah after his names to fashion as 'Charles Ibrahim Ombijah'. Later in 1996, Charles was enrolled under sponsorship of Mr.Henry Arina, an Alumni of Kisumu Boys High School and Maseno University.Mr.Henry Arina is a man who followed great steps of a late philathropist and uncle..the Late Arina D.C of Uyoma Kobong'. Later at end of 1996, Charles became a beneficiary of Presidential Scholarshiph that was purely based on academic excellence fully monitored by veteran Principal Mr.Caleb Opondo. Charles joined University of Nairobi in 2001 for Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and majored in Animal Science as fourth year elective programm. Today, Charles enjoys working for a giant GSM Telecom industry in Kenya on Projects that have huge commercial impacts and community participation. Charles is blessed with a son named Ibrahim Jr and married to Madam Molly.
