The article Nathaneal greene elementary has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 17:40, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Nathanael Greene Elementary School

I have nominated Nathanael Greene Elementary School, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nathanael Greene Elementary School. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? CultureDrone (talk) 18:17, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I'll put my hand up and say sorry for not explaining before why I was changing this article to a redirect... basically, Wikipedia is not envisaged as an encyclopedia of everything - it doesn't have and never will have (unless policy changes !) articles on everything - this includes people, films, companies and schools.

In order for any article to stay in Wikipedia (i.e. not be deleted), it has to meet certain criteria, and follow certain guidelines. These cover not only what an article should look like, but the type of content it should have. One of the guidelines it that of notability - you can see the general policy by clicking here: WP:N, and one more specifically relating to organisations here: WP:ORG. Basically, the article subject has to be notable in some fashion, and I don't believe that this school meets the criteria - with the best will in the world, nothing in the article indicates that it's any different to hundreds, if not thousands, of other schools.

Normally, sufficient lack of notability usually results in an article being deleted. However, over time, a consensus view amongst the Wikipedia community emerges on whether articles of certain types should actually be deleted or not. These aren't hard and fast policy, more a statement of the general opinion of what should happen - these can be seen here: WP:OUTCOMES. If you look at the 'Education' section, you'll see that the general view is that "Most elementary and middle schools that don't claim notability are now getting deleted in AfD, with high schools in most cases being kept. Schools which do get deleted are frequently, although not always, redirected to the school district which operates them.".

My belief therefore is that, since your article claims no notability for the school (though if you can provide some, please do so), that it would end up beign sent to AfD for proposed deletion, and this would (based on general precedent) actually end up with it being redirected to the article about the school district. However, no such article exists (yet), so the general policy is to redirect to the article about the area/town - which is what I've been doing (trying to cut out a few steps in the process). Apologies again for not explaining this sooner. Feel free to drop me a message on my talk page if you want to discuss this. :-) CultureDrone (talk) 07:06, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:1726883-pavanefadg01 super small.JPG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 20:05, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:1726883-pavanefadg01 super small.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 09:09, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
