Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Prior content on your user page duplicated one or more previously published sources. The material was copied from: http://www.fanfaire.com/aria/brownlee.html. Infringing material has been rewritten or removed and must not be restored, unless it is duly released under a compatible license. (For more information, please see "using copyrighted works from others" if you are not the copyright holder of this material, or "donating copyrighted materials" if you are.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or published material; such additions will be deleted. Contributors may use copyrighted publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences or phrases. Accordingly, the material may be rewritten, but only if it does not infringe on the copyright of the original or plagiarize from that source. Please see our guideline on non-free text for how to properly implement limited quotations of copyrighted text. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with these policies. Thank you. Voceditenore (talk) 05:33, 21 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please also see WP:NOTRESUME and WP:FAKEARTICLE. A user page is for presenting personal information about you relevant to your work as an editor on the encyclopedia, it is not the place to host an alternative article about someone which would never be allowed in article space. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions to the Lawrence Brownlee article, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later, and under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribute Share-Alike."

You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question at the "Help Desk". You can also leave a message on my talk page.

Even if it hadn't been a copyvio, the material you added was completely unencyclopedic and promotional in tone, and had no references to support any of the assertions. Also, by pasting that text in wholesale, all the formatting and references from previous editors (representing a lot of work) was removed. If you wish to make additions. Do them gradually, in your own words maintaining a neutral point of view, referencing them, and respecting the existing formatting. Voceditenore (talk) 05:58, 21 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you are affiliated in any way (personal or professional) with Lawrence Brownlee, including working for or on behalf of his agents, KKN Enterprises, please read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and follow the guidelines there scrupulously. Voceditenore (talk) 06:08, 21 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
