Not sure what's happening there, but I get a page that suggests uploading to Wikimedia Commons and a wizard for making sure the image meets our copyright restrictions. Have you read Wikipedia:Image use policy? Anything on Wikipedia should be licensable under the GFDL. A company logo can probably be used under Wikipedia:Image_use_policy#Fair_use_images. At any rate, when you upload you must determine which license applies, and the wizard will help you do that. I have only uploaded 1 image under "fairuse," the rest were pictures I took. I probably don't have to tell you that if you scan an image or get it off the web, the creator's copyright still applies. Hope that helps. Hello. Can you please be more careful when adding the "area served" parameter to company infoboxes? You seem to be simply adding "worldwide" to article after article, but I have already found two where that is not the case - CNP Assurances only operates in Europe and South America, Metro Group does not operate in the Americas at all. Per our guideline WP:DEADREF: "Deactivate the dead link, and keep the citation information if still appropriate to the article. (This may happen, for example, when an online copy of material that originally appeared in print is no longer online.) In the remaining citation, note that the dead link was found to be inactive on today's date. I second this. Furthermore, efforts should be made to find an archived copy if possible, either with WebCite or Internet Archive. References with dead links should never be deleted but rather tagged with {{dead link}}. I simply don't understand why you guys are so keen in putting all those figures when a company is acquired, I really don't think putting all those facts is worthwhile. Secondly, still not fully convinced anyway I think I would rather remove the yahoo source and put a citation tag because putting a dead link is really all that necessary. So I'm keeping the FY09 figure for a while and rather removed the links and unless somebody find a proper relevant source where it is clearly mentioned the FY09 figure shall be removed in future.--Kkm010^as© 14:00, 21 April 2010 (UTC)

OK, But remember unless you provided proper source i would continue to revert your edits. It is simply unacceptable. You generally provided bullshit sources rather than relevant source. And try to seek help from other user which is something ridiculous. Try to provided relevant source or you known what the consequences would be. I'm not against those FY09 figure that you had given in the article but putting bullshit source or putting a deadlink tag is simply unacceptable. You are on the edge of edit warring here. Might I suggest that you moderate your tone, learn to be less aggressive to other editors, assume good faith, act with civility and courtesy. First of all if i sound bit aggressive I'm sorry for that. why I was little upset on Simple Bob is that he doesn't try to understand the claim he is making is whether true or not, you know i can easily withdraw from this stuff but in future anybody can remove those FY09 figures and do the same stuff like me and then the same thing would happen again. Simple Bob did a similar stuff in another article all I'm trying to say I'm not against those putting the FY09 figure but i don't accept putting horrible sources which simple Bob is giving. Suppose if i found a article which says Einstein played Cricket in his early days and in future that fact is lost or dead in Wikipedia language does that claim that Einstein really played Cricket in his early days. There has to be enough sources that YES Einstein really played cricket in his early days. But I'm sorry Simple Bob didn't tried to understood this simple fact and thought that my tone is bit aggressive or cacophonous. I didn't add the "horrible sources", they have been there for a long time. I reinstated them after another IP editor removed them and then left the exact same advice that I left on your talk page about not deleting sources. I also reverted the same IP editor's removal of an offline source on Microsoft Visual Studio - an article on which you also started an edit war. I'm not accusing you but i certainly don't accept your actions. You provide a perfect source like other companies did, like Microsoft or Google, they all provided relevant official sources or even a close source where FY09 figures are mentioned. Ok, that's not the way things work around here. The numbers and source (from Sun's site) were added November 1st, 2009 by an IP. Presumably Bob checked the source and corrected the numbers which I see from the article history. Now as Bob is an editor in good standing we can count on the fact that the source did in fact back up the numbers, even if the source is no longer available. Look Neil i clearly mentioned earlier that if see article of Microsoft, Google or any other articles of a corporation, they all provided a good source where the Financial figures of last three years are clearly mentioned considering it as an example why can't Simple bob find a suitable source for Sun, is there only one source available on the web. I can't believe it i known this discussion is going on for too long but what to do. I clearly said to Simple Bob if he finds a good source he should add it but rather doing that he is so keen on keeping those figures I'm certainly not against it but i got to remove those figure if he really can't find a proper source. Please refrain from repeatedly undoing other people's edits, as you are doing in United States. It appears you may be engaged in an edit war. The three-revert rule (3RR) prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. Rather than reverting, please discuss disputed changes on the talk page. Thank you.

Keep in mind, the article is well-established and a major change to the lead section like the one you're suggesting will almost always require debate and discussion on the Talk page to see if there is general support for it. Hi, seen as you're new around here, you might want to take a look at Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners and Wikipedia:Citing sources, and remember, it is always better to look to see if the information is correct and to add a citation rather than delete, although leads do not have to be referenced as the info they contain is normally referenced in the main body of the article. Your recent edits, such as the one you made to Template:Indian political parties, did not cite any valid reasons for seperating out "Indian National Congress" and "Bharitya Janta Party" as "MAJOR RECOGNIGED NATIONAL PARTIES". This is AGAINST the Rules and Guidelines set by the ELECTION COMMISSION OF INDIA.
Please explain the valid reason behind such an attempt on the template talk page

For past few days the article La Martiniere Calcutta is under high vandalism. IP hooper are continuously removing valid information provided with relevant source. It really difficult for me to look after this article every single day and reverting its edits. Therefor pls temporary block this article for 2 to 3 months.  Done - but in the future you should file these protection requests at RFPP. That particular page is watched by more then one admin, and is therefor generally faster then contacting an individual such as myself. For example: I was about to log off when you posted your message. Please refrain from using purely numeric date formats on Wikipedia, as you did on Larry Page. A date written as 01/02/03 means 1 February 2003 to a European, 2 January 2003 to an American or 3 February 2001 to a Japanese. Rather, use one of the date formats that is standard across Wikipedia: 11 August 2024 for articles on British/European topics, August 11, 2024 for articles on American topics, otherwise just keep it consistent throughout the article. I apologise if you are finding my comments there harsh. Let me try to explain.

Lots of editors are devoting lots of their free time to assist you with your requests. On every occasion that someone asks you to do something to help yourself, you seem to either ignore the question, or just say that you can't do it.

Wikipedia is a co-operative project of volunteers. My opinion is that if you expect a lot of help in a certain area, then it's not unreasonable to expect that you will at least respond positively to efforts to help you to help yourself.

I understand that there may be language barriers, but nevertheless even a small effort to "show willing" on your part would go a long way. Instead you appear just to ignore anything that would need any effort from you. Whilst people are happy to help you, you do need to contribute to the process.

As I said, this is just my opinion, and I offer it as advice. Please do not be offended by this message - that's not the intent at all, rather just view it as an explanation for my comments, and possibly even as some good advice on interaction within the project. Hi! i did not remove those information. i moved them to the last paragraph of History section. And made a compressed version of that paragraph and added that to the last few lines of the lead. the lead of an article, ideally, should be a summary of the body of the article.

There is a separate wikipedia entry that goes into what they are. Similarly for the atomic structure there is a section in that page. Similarly when it says elsewhere that I was born in Chidambaram and am now a US citizen, there is absolutely no need to say "Indian-born American scientist." If I define myself as a structural biologist, it is not for you to say I am something else. Finally a point of grammar: it should be "you're making disruptive changes" not "your making disruptive changes." If you persist in making irrelevant changes, I shall complain to the Wikipedia authorities. Please do not add unsourced content, as you did to BP. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. The information you included was not obtained from the cited 2009 Report (at least not the one I looked at). This looks better, just because you didn't click minor. I reverted because all of your contributions are selected as minor, which is against Wikipedia's policies. You also should of written in the description "updating info for 2010, based on the current sources". Anything like that, just don't keep the descriptions empty.
