Not really. All those articles violate MOS and they should be corrected. We remove current/currently per WP:MOS, MOS:CURRENT, and MOS:REALTIME. Plus there is a consensus to include "As of". See WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. Just because many articles have the same issue, it does not mean we should bring that issue to the clean ones too. I only edit articles in my watchlist. There are already several articles that use the new format; e.g. Kazuchika Okada, Eddie Kingston, Roxanne Perez, Bianca Belair, and some others. If the existence of "currently" is your concern, you can help by replacing it with the new format.
