Hi Jumpcutter. I added the above information based upon what you posted at Wikipedia:Teahouse#Political Candidate Article. Please take the time to review the pages linked to in blue above because they contain information that you might find helpful. Please understand that the above template wasn't added because you've done anything improper; the information on those pages might, however, help you avoid problems because there might be some things you're not aware of when it comes to Wikipedia.
In addition, you might also want to take a look at Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not, Wikipedia:Ownership of content and Wikipedia:An article about yourself isn't necessarily a good thing since you might find those pages helpful as well. Wikipedia articles are written about subjects, not for subjects; moreover, all article content (positive or negative) will be assessed in accordance with relevant Wikipedia policies and guidelines, not whether it's something the subject wants. If an article does end up being created about the subject, neither they nor anyone associated with them will have any final editorial control over what's written or be able to prevent others from editing the article. Furthermore, the article won't be able to used to promote the subject of the article or as a way to let others know about their posistions; in fact, the subject and those connected to the subject will be highly discouraged from even directly editing the article, except under certain conditions.
Finally, you posted at the Teahouse that it seemed in the public interest for our candidate to have one as well, but that's (to be blunt) not in any way a concern of Wikipedia. So, please explain this things to subject of the article; you might even want to ask them to read WP:BOSS. If the subject decides Wikipedia is not going to allow them to do the things they want to do, you should probably request that the draft you started be speedily deleted per WP:G7 and perhaps look for some WP:ALTERNATIVE which might be suited for the subject's needs, -- Marchjuly (talk) 12:06, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
