Hey James, I tried to improve the article on the church up to Wikipedia standards (see here if it still exists), but someone nominated it for speedy deletion before I could finish. (I was working on adding some quotes from your pastor on the community outreach and Shine program...but honestly, I don't think it would've stopped the deletion nomination). You may want to check it out and place a {{hangon}} tag at the top of the page...but it is my experience that, unfortunately, local churches and organization are not going to meet Wikipedia's notability requirement unless they receive significant coverage in the news media...and are likely to be deleted with out much discussion. Anyway, I tried to help the best I could, but I was afraid this would happen. Anyway, drop me a note on my talk page if you need some assistance. Great Commission Church Olive Branch (GCCOB) is a non-denominational Christian church located in Olive Branch, Mississippi. ^[1] It was founded in 1999 by Pastor Trevor Davis, and held services in five locations over the Church's eleven year history. It is part of the national family of Great Commission Churches (GCC), and is associated with the Great Commission church movement

Founded by Pastor Trevor Davis, ^[2] the GCCOB split from the First Baptist Church of Olive Branch in 1999. For the first few months, the GCCOB held services on First Baptist property in what was called the "House Church." Upon expansion of the congregation, the GCCOB moved into the larger White Chapel later that same year. From 2004-2006, services were held at Olive Branch High School, first in the cafeteria, then later in the gymnasium. In 2010, in a move to address further space issues, the GGCOB broke ground on the construction of their first permanent facility on Goodman Road. The new facility is known as GCC 5.0, in reference to it being their fifth location in eleven years. ^{[3] [4]}

The GCCOB is part of Great Commission Churches family, which is a division of the Great Commission church movement. The mission of the GCC and its family of churches is inspired by scripture in the Christian Bible: "Go discipling in all nations, baptizing in the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." ^[5]

OK, I had a little chit-chat with the person who nominated this article for deletion, and got them to withdraw the request. Unfortunately, we might only be delaying the inevitable. To have an article in Wikipedia, it is not enough for the Church to simply "exist." There are notability guidelines that must be met...otherwise there would be an article on every church, school, business, etc in the world. You can see how that would be a big mess.

The only way to save this article is to find some news sources somewhere that talk about the church...and that is where you can possibly help. I've already found the Commercial Appeal article and some others that talk about the new GCC 5.0 building...but that is not going to be enough. Do you know of any awards or recognition from the national GCC the church in Olive Branch may have received? What about something unique the church does or has started...something a newspaper or magazine would've reported on? Again, I am doubtful this article is going to be kept from being deleted, but it doesn't hurt to try.

I did about as much as I could to improve on the article, and then put it up for a community vote whether or not it should be deleted. That is the Wiki-way.
