Welcome

Hello, Jackiemcontento and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears you are participating in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students. Go through our online training for students

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Please also read this helpful advice for students.

Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.

Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, and if your class doesn't already have one please tell your instructor about that. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and aid your communication with them.

We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished! ReaderofthePack(formerly Tokyogirl79) (。◕‿◕。) 08:24, 18 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi! I also wanted to point you towards the Women in Red WikiProject, which is aimed at improving the coverage of women and women related topics (of which your draft is one!) on Wikipedia. I highly, HIGHLY recommend checking in with them since they are honestly an awesome group of people and can help provide a veritable wealth of resources and assistance. Medical topics are an area that is often not as frequently covered or at least more difficult to cover, so they always need more people to help fight the good fight! FWIW, I do think your topic is notable, I just think it needs editing to better fit Wikipedia's guidelines and style. This brochure on editing medical topics may help. It would also be good to review articles on other medical devices such as Speculum (medical) or Endoscope. Something else I noted was that while there's a page on colposcopy there's not an article on the device itself, nor is there much information about the device in the article - which itself could use a lot of work! I didn't know if this would be something that you may be interested in? I'm not super savvy on medical topics, so you may want to talk to the medicine wikiproject or the Women in Red project (as there are medicine interested/savvy people there) - but I'm always here as a resource if you need me. On a side note, if this is related to a class, could your instructor contact Wiki Education at contact@wikiedu.org? The reason being is that the organization offers a ton of awesome free resources that would make a classroom assignment a lot easier to keep track of - and doesn't cost a thing. (Full disclosure, I used to work for them!) ReaderofthePack(formerly Tokyogirl79) (。◕‿◕。) 08:34, 18 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
