Hi mate. Actually I've heard the one about "Are 'Friends' Electric?" being two songs as well and can probably find a citation for it, however that sort of detail belongs in the song article, not the band article, so I think you did the right thing removing it from Tubeway Army in any case... Did I? Oops - that was unintentional. Generally, there should only be one wikilink for something per article. But obviously as more edits are added you will get new ones cropping up. Just so we're singing from the same hymn-sheet, I just want to clarify what articles you think also need to change. I think that articles such as Sheffield Steelers such state that the club play at Sheffield Arena and Sheffield City Trust should say that it owns Sheffield Arena, but where event have taken place under the old name, such as The Sound of Girls Aloud: The Greatest Hits Tour or Queen + Paul Rodgers Tour ought to stick with Hallam FM Arena, as it was called when the events took place. Hello JD, Panthers history has Jack as playing 7 games for us in 1956 and 1959. Panthers history is a very useful website if there's anything regarding the Panthers in any article you're doing that needs clarifying, failing that I can also get in touch with the author of two books about our history. Hello there JD. On the Elite Ice Hockey League page the year of Nottingham's formation was changed to 1980. I reverted it back to 1946 but it has since been changed back to 1980. It is a bit of an ambiguous subject so rather than start a mini edit war I thought it would be best if we tried to build a bit of consensus. I've left my reasons for having 1946 as the foundation year on the talk page and asked the user who changed the year to 1980 to join in. As a regular contributor to British ice hockey related topics your thoughts on the subject would be very welcome. PanthersGirl 16:28, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

You reverted my edit on the above article with the summary "It is for sports. See List of British flags#Northern Ireland". 1. Not for all sports 2. There is no agreement to use the flag and it is very contentious 3. The link to the "List of British flags clearly shows the Ulster Banner is not the flag of Northern Ireland so I am somewhat baffled why you gave that link.

Hi Vintagetiks, my rationale for using the Northern Ireland Banner on the Irish Ice Hockey League is because of what is said in the link I gave you:

"Northern Ireland does not currently have a de jure National flag^[1] other than the Union Flag - the former Government of Northern Ireland banner, the Ulster Banner, is still in use by international sporting organisations, (eg FIFA [1], UEFA [2], and the Commonwealth Games [3])"

Whilst I agree that the Ulster Banner is used in some sporting context, those context are very limited - international football (noting that the IFA dont use it) and the Commonwealth Games. However, I was not aware that the Irish Ice Hockey League‎ use it. If they dont then I dont think we should use it on this case, if they do then we should use it to denote the league but not the country. The Ulster Banner is only used in certain sports for Northern Ireland, not all sports and even in those its only used when they compete as a national team, this will explain Use in sport of flags in Northern Ireland.--Padraig (talk) 11:21, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

(I'll keep my replies here now it's a three-way discussion) I'm not sure that link you've provided answers the question on which flag to use for ice hockey. Ice hockey wasn't one of the 15 sports questioned and 5 of those 15 sports said they used the Northern Ireland/Ulster flag. FWIW I have no strong feeling on this issue either way, but a consensus should be reached. Isn't it nice to have a Steelers fan's talk page include so much about the Panthers? ;-)

One of the suggestions made by Oldelpaso in his peer review of the Panthers article is a section about the Panthers-Steelers rivalry. It's certainly worth some thought but I'm not entirely sure of how best to do it. I have an idea of how the rivalry started but it would be very difficult to put in as there aren't a lot of sources about it and I don't want to just start listing off major games and events between the two as I don't think that would make for very good reading or necessarily explain the rivalry. I would say the rivalry goes back to the previous season. Alex Dampier left us during 1992-93 while we in the Premier League and you were in the First Division. That summer he signed Selmar Odelein, Chris Kelland and another young lad who's name I don't recall from us which didn't go down to well at our end (as it says on the Steelers article, there was a lot of resentment towards the Steelers from pretty much everyone). There were a few feisty games during the 1993-94 season which ended with you beating us 8-0 in the playoff semi final (though you lost 12-1 to Cardiff the following day ;-)). There was then the title race the following season and regular meetings in semi finals and finals throughout the rest of the 90s. Mike Blaisdell walking out on us to go to you guys in October 1999 didn't help matters either. That's pretty much my interpretation of it, I'm just not entirely sure how to put that into a section. Thanks for looking it up. I've doubled checked the Panthers books I own and a few yearbooks and nothing has really got anything useful. I've had a look at a few FA sports team articles and very few have a detailed section regarding rivalry and where there is it's not very long. I've also looked a few pages about rivalries and some are a horrible mess which I don't really want. I still have one or two things that need doing but I think I'm going to go for FA status with what's there already. It's something that can certainly be added in the future though. Hi there, JD554. Just to let you know, redirects like this don't get discussed at MfD. Instead, they should be discussed at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion, which specializes in considering redirects (hence the name). Don't sweat about not knowing this; it's not as busy as most deletion processes. If you move it over there, this is a case where it will probably get deleted - I think your deletion rationale is strong enough, it's just in the wrong place. I see you've deleted my recent addition to the Starbucks wiki, citing it as spam. I can assure you that the resource linked to is independent research carried out by the UK Design Council, a not-for-profit government organisation that aims to raise awareness of design. It does not seek to sell any products or promote any particular agenda apart from the resources themselves. I contributed by adding a new link to the White Stripes page. Wikipedia puts enormous weight on relying on Discogs and MusicBrainz as resources but I find that the external link I was adding [6] is as much, if not more, a useful resource to provide the user. I was rather beginning to enjoy your lack of success in recent times. ;-) Now that the season is done and dusted with I was thinking of changing around the British team season boxes to add in the Knockout Cup. It seems to be here to stay, and it seems strange not to have it on a team's page. The problem is that you can't really have more than four sections across the page, otherwise the writing becomes much more difficult to read. This is a problem on ours, yours and Cardiff's page and maybe a problem on Basingstoke's if I ever get round to doing it. I don't understand your reversion on this page. Template:Birth date and age is only for people who are (within the standards of Wikipedia policy) clearly still alive. Kilpatrick is not, hence the reason that he is "Possibly living people" as opposed to "living people." Using the "birth date and age" template implies that he is currently age, which, unless you have a source showing that he is still alive (ie. meets the requirements Category:Living people as opposed to Category:Possibly living people) is not verifiable. Similarly, for deceased individuals, we have a Template:Death date and age. For people of unknown living status, we just leave it be. Do you have a source that indicates that he is still alive? Before policy, I would appeal to a little common sense - if we are uncertain whether the person is alive or dead, why should we list him as being a certain age? Having said that, the policy I would point would be WP:V: Material challenged or likely to be challenged, and all quotations, must be attributed to a reliable, published source. The category Category:Living people states that Individuals of advanced age (over 90) for whom no documentation has existed for a reasonable number of years, may be removed from this category and transferred to Category:Possibly living people. Kilpatrick certainly falls into this category, so we can skirt the "list as alive until 123 or obit" policy of WP:BLP. But it is also an implicit challenge to any "fact" that lists him as being alive. Therefore, you need to attribute anything that claims he is living (ie. his current age being 90) to a reliable source. If you could do that, he would belong in category "Living people" anyhow, so this discussion would be moot. Or if that's too abstract, then consider my removal of the "birth date and age" a challenge to this material. Cheers, CP 14:06, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

I think I will remove it, if only because I personally believe that he is deceased from evidence garnered from non-reliable sources. Taking the option to place him in possibly living seems appropriate to me.

"to be" is not a phrasal verb. It's an infinitive. In this case, the word "to" is not a preposition, it's a piece of the infinitive (more precisely, a grammatical particle). I noticed that you have access to books that list British chart positions. Would you be able to reference some chart positions for the Alt-Rock WikiProject? The official UK Charts website is terrible for research purposes, and a lot of the articles are right now relying on chart information from websites that aren't really suitable as reliable, credible sources. Highest priority would be the Featured List discographies on the project main page. Basically, if you see any British chart positions that are referenced by everyhit.com or chartstats.com, feel free to replace them with whatever book you have. I'd say start with the British bands and disbanded acts first, the latter of which is least likely to result in need for further referencing in the future. Nirvana discography might be the best to start with, since it's such a high-priority band and probably one of the more visited discography pages. I reverted the American dating on the Alianore de Lovayne article placed by another user to the correct British system which I had originally used for Alianore, seeing as she was English. I only use American dating for American people; whereas for British and European people I always employ British dating.
