So I have added another that was shared. The source author of the image is also cited. Does that make it easier. He team have reached out to thank me for the change. Jmcf22: wait, I've just seen your edit summary on the page. "Public domain" does not refer to media that you or I can consume for free, e.g. on Instagram. "Public domain" refers to works to which there are no intellectual property rights or to those whose rights have expired; in the U.S. that's all works published on or before Jan. 1, 1927. Danger89, on this site, standalone articles must meet standards set out in WP:GNG and further clarified in subsequent subpages. WineGUI, being merely the graphic part of Wine, doesn't meet that standard either in isolation or in secondary source coverage. I noticed that you'd put two sources down; unfortunately, those were from Wine, and affiliated sources don't count towards reliable significant secondary source coverage. Hello, Iseult,

I haven't deleted all of the pages that you tagged for speedy deletion for being page creations of a blocked sockpuppet, User:Losail. It looked like there were contributions to some of the articles by other editors which would nullify the CSD G5, at least in my opinion. It could be that another admin will review these pages and judge things differently but I wanted to let you know why I didn't delete all of the articles you tagged. Thanks. Liz ^{Read! Hello Iseult/2022,

Backlog status

At the time of the last newsletter (No.27, May 2022), the backlog was approaching 16,000, having shot up rapidly from 6,000 over the prior two months. The attention the newsletter brought to the backlog sparked a flurry of activity. There was new discussion on process improvements, efforts to invite new editors to participate in NPP increased and more editors requested the NPP user right so they could help, and most importantly, the number of reviews picked up and the backlog decreased, dipping below 14,000^[a] at the end of May.

Since then, the news has not been so good. The backlog is basically flat, hovering around 14,200. I wish I could report the number of reviews done and the number of new articles added to the queue. But the available statistics we have are woefully inadequate. The only real number we have is the net queue size.^[b]

In the last 30 days, the top 100 reviewers have all made more than 16 patrols (up from 8 last month), and about 70 have averaged one review a day (up from 50 last month).

While there are more people doing more reviews, many of the ~730 with the NPP right are doing little. Most of the reviews are being done by the top 50 or 100 reviewers. They need your help. We appreciate every review done, but please aim to do one a day (on average, or 30 a month).

TIP – New school articles

Many new articles on schools are being created by new users in developing and/or non-English-speaking countries. The authors are probably not even aware of Wikipedia's projects and policy pages. WP:WPSCH/AG has some excellent advice and resources specifically written for these users. Reviewers could consider providing such first-time article creators with a link to it while also mentioning that not all schools pass the GNG and that elementary schools are almost certainly not notable.

There has been significant discussion at WP:VPP recently on NPP-related matters (Draftification, Deletion, Notability, Verifiability, Burden). Proposals that would somewhat ease the burden on NPP aren't gaining much traction, although there are suggestions that the role of NPP be fundamentally changed to focus only on major CSD-type issues.

Hi Iseult, honestly I don't agree with the warnings (notability and additional citations) you posted on Paolo Del Debbio's page: that page has already overcome a revion for its publication from the previous status of Draft. Which information in that page need additional sources? I provided a source for every phrase, including Del Debbio's biography by the most prestigious Italian encyclopedia, that is the Treccani encyclopedia. Ok, maybe I have the wrong term, but it is really difficult to doubt the notability of Paolo Del Debbio, since even Treccani has a lemma dedicated to him. Furthermore the second reminder states that the article needs additional citations for verification, but all the content of the page is supported by sources (including Treccani). These reminders were already removed after I had improved the page and its publishing was accepted, therefore I don't understand why they have been restored again...--Scia Della Cometa (talk) 16:22, 25 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Scia Della Cometa: I'm not the one who put up the second notice; that was back in January, in any case; I've since removed that. As for Treccani, I'm not familiar with the subject, and, in any case, the existence of an article for him isn't justification for notability here. It's difficult for me to evaluate the notability of this figure, which is doubt, and this is unreviewed per New Page Patrol, so I've marked it for further review. I hadn't noticed that the second reminder also preceded the move to Draft status. In any case, in my view the first reminder remains not justified, it reads "Please help to demonstrate the notability of the topic by citing reliable secondary sources that are independent of the topic and provide significant coverage of it beyond a mere trivial mention": Are you not familiar with Treccani? Treccani is simply the most prestigious Italian encyclopedia, so yes, it seems to me enough to attribute notability to this character (especially in a site, Wikipedia, in which much less known and relevant characters find space). Even if you don't know him, the presence of a lemma about a character in an important encyclopedia ([1]) should serve to prevent from doubting notability about him... --Scia Della Cometa (talk) 08:51, 26 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Scia Della Cometa: no, I'm not familiar with Treccani, and tagged it just so editors more familiar with the sourcing in the article and how to evaluate that could do just that. It doesn't matter to me that less relevant characters have entries on Wikipedia. It matters that the article that I'm looking at follows site guidelines. If you feel that certain articles don't belong, please help us out at WP:AFD. A third editor has come long and removed the template, so this whole discussion, albeit unnecessarily tedious over a template and not a nomination for deletion, is void. For clarification, the original Chinese version and the original English version were a bit different from the beginning. Paraphrasing has been done since its translation in 2019, yet plagiarism may still occur in some paragraphs. One example is the two paragraph citing the master's thesis of Piao Junzhe (2003) at length. The statements by Shen Bao, which were all quoted in the thesis, should be free but it may be hard to translate. You may wish to improve the translation if you can. The original work of Piao has been uploaded to Scribd for your convenience during the deletion process.

English version: The Chinese were massively detained according to the Shanghai-based newspaper Shen Bao. on 24 July 1929, the newspaper said, "around a thousand Chinese who lived in Vladivostok were detained by the Soviet authority. They were all said to be bourgeoisie." On 12 August, the newspaper stated that there were still 1,600-1,700 Chinese in jail in Vladivostok, and that each of them was provided with a piece of rye bread daily and underwent various tortures. On 26 August, the newspaper continued that the detained Chinese in Khabarovsk only had a bread soup for meal daily, among which a lot of people had hanged them due to unbearable starvation. On 14 September, the newspaper stated that another thousand Chinese in Vladivostok were arrested, with almost no Chinese remaining in the city. On 15 September, the newspaper continued that Vladivostok had arrested more than 1,000 Chinese during 8 and 9 September and that there were estimated to be more than 7,000 Chinese in jail in the city. On 21 September, the newspaper said, "the Government in the Russian Far East cheated the arrested Chinese, and forced them to construct the railway between Heihe and Khabarovsk. The forced workers only had two pieces of rye bread to eat daily. If they worked with any delay, they would be whipped, making them at the edge of living and dead."^[1]: 31

Chinese version: 1929年7月24日，《申报》载：“居住于海參崴之华人中约千人，被苏联当局拘禁，闻此辈皆系有产阶级者”^[2]。8月12日，《申报》指海參崴仍有1,600名至1,700名在囚华侨，每人每日仅给一片黑面包，並受到种种虐待^[3]。而在伯力之被捕华侨，备受俄方虐待，一天仅食一碗面包汤，因为饥饿而上吊自杀者不少^[4]。9月14日，俄方再度逮捕千余名海参崴华侨，海参崴已无华侨纵迹^[5]。9月15日，《申报》又载：“该地自入日起，大捕华侨，八九两日共捕千余人，连同以前被捕囚狱华侨，己达七千人以上”^[6]。“ 远东俄官厅，骗遣被捕华侨，修筑黑河伯力间铁路，日仅给黑面包二片，工作稍缓，即遭鞭挞，华侨实求死不得”^[7][1]: 31。

Another example was from the following paragraph. It used a lot of sentences from the work of Yin Guangming (2016). The references in this paragraph are free to access and involves statements from newspapers and consular offices, which is now uncopyrighted. Yet, still, what 折毛 cites are all cited and quoted in the work of Yin Guangming (2016), which she claimed to be associated with as she talked with me. There are many statements here in Classical Chinese as they are in their source and in the original Chinese version. Much of the paragraph has not been re-written from its original Chinese version, but when translating it into English, the organisation of sentences has changed a lot. Notably, the original Chinese version also involves paraphrasing of the original Chinese source, as you can tell by comparing them. Yet, you may still want to improve the translation or re-write them to improve the article.

English version: On 10 January 1938, Yu Ming, Charge-D of the Chinese embassy in Moscow, Soviet Union lodge representations to the Soviet Union, urging the authority to release the Chinese. The Chinese request to meet the chief officer of the Department of the Far East of People's Commissariat for Foreign Affairs on the following day (11 January 1938) was declined by the officer who claimed to be sick. On 13 January, some Chinese reported to Chinese consulates in Vladivostok and Khabarovsk that the detained Chinese were starving and even tortured to death, yet the NKDA reject any meeting or food donation by the Chinese consulates. On 28 January, the Chinese Consulate in Vladivostok reported to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, "how could we believe that (the Soviet authority) said the Chinese all committed espionage!"^[8]: 48 The Politburo published the Repressions against "national lines" in the USSR (1937-1938) (Репрессии по «национальным линиям» в СССР (1937—1938) in Russian), which extended the purges against nationalists including the Chinese and began to be carried out in February. The Soviet abuse of the Chinese hit the headline of the Central Daily News run by the ruling Chinese nationalists on 6 February.^[9] On 14th, the Chinese Consulate in Vladivostok reported to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, "the Soviet robbed everything, especially money and possessions; if they are hidden somewhere, the Chinese would be extorted by tortures, numerous people killed by such detention, which was miserable and harsh to an extreme." On 17th, the Chinese Consulate in Khabarovsk protested against the tortures during interrogation, calling for Soviet release of the Chinese.^{[8]: 44–45, 48} On 19th, the Central Daily News again protested against the Soviet abuse of the Chinese.^[10] On 21st, Hong Kong-based Kung Sheung Daily News re-posted a Japanese coverage of the Soviet brutality against the Chinese, to express its outrage against the deeds of the Soviet Union.^[11] On 22nd, the Chinese Consulate in Khabarovsk reported another hundred of innocent Chinese arrested during the previous night by NKVD and that it was heard previously arrested Chinese were forced to work in those remote, cold areas. On 2 March, the Chinese Consulate in Vladivostok reported, "the Soviet authority searched for the Chinese day and night, arresting the Chinese even when they were at work. The Soviet was so aggressive that there was no space for any concession. The deeds were as brutal as the exclusion of China in 1900, during which many were drowned in the Heilongjiang River. Recalling the miserable history makes people tremble with fear."^[8]: 44-45

Chinese version: 1938年1月10日，中华民国驻苏联大使馆临时代办余銘向苏联提出交涉，要求尽速释放被捕华侨。次日，中方要求面见苏联外交人民委员部远东司司长，对方称病拒见^[12]。1月13日，有华侨向中國駐海参崴、駐伯力等地的领事馆报告，被捕华侨食不果腹，且有遭到刑讯致死者，但苏联地方内务部机关态度强硬，不允许中华民国领事机构探视、送食物^[13]。1月28日，中华民国驻海参崴总领事馆致电外交部，指出苏联大量抓捕华侨“谓其俱犯间谍罪，其孰能信”。1938年1月31日，聯共（布）中央政治局通过《镇压“民族路线”》的决议，决定加大和延长对民族主義者的肃反，当中亦包括华人。1938年2月1日开始，针对华人的大肃反展开当年使用东北官话的塔兹族不在此列，他们被苏联认定是其他民族。</ref>。2月6日，《中央日報》刊载苏俄虐待华侨之信息^[14]。2月14日，中华民国驻海参崴总领事馆电告外交部苏聯大捕华侨、大量掠夺及充公苏联华人财产一事：“其剽掠无所不取，酷索钱财，藏匿者以刑相逼，拷毙无算，备极惨毒”^[15]。2月17日，中华民国驻伯力总领事馆介入事件，抗议对被逮捕之华侨刑讯逼供，要求苏方放人，苏方不予理会^[16]。2月19日，《中央日报》再发文声讨苏联虐待华侨^[17]。2月21日，香港《工商日报》亦转发日本报纸消息，斥责苏联虐俄华侨可愤^[18]。2月22日，駐伯力总领事馆表示：“内政管理局连夜派人分乘大汽车搜捕善良华侨又有百余人之多，其势汹汹如擒大盗，变本加厉，势必至拿罄而后止，闻前次被捕之华侨即将发往边远苦寒各地，罚充苦工”^[19]。“搜捕侨民夜以继日，并有工作时间将其逮捕者，苏方咄咄逼人不留余地，其蛮横行为等于庚子年驱逐华人故事，淹毙黑龙江内，回忆惨史不寒而栗”^[20]。“本埠昨晚起又复大捕华侨，今晨尚在继续进行中，仅当时不在家中者暂获幸免，群来领馆哭诉，恳请寄宿馆中，藉资庇托，……苏方对我侨胞一再滥捕，以致群情惶骇，不可言状”^[21]。

As for Classical Chinese, I doubt it's actually CC; first, there isn't one CC, either literary or vernacular, and that varied between dynasties and kingdoms.
