Locomotive class pages

Hey there, I get what you’re trying to do, and I appreciate that, but I should let you know that when creating a Wikipedia page, you need to use more than one source to back the info up, or it might be at risk of getting deleted or redirected by a higher-up. You also can’t just copy and paste info and sources from a pre-existing page, because then you’re just copying some else’s work, and at that point, you basically have a duplicate page.

I know this sounds expensive for your liking, but you might want to buy multiple actual physical books online, and if you’ve read a page and want to reference it, use your own words. Someone who likes train writing (talk) 16:12, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I know. Also did you see the NY&W 142's update [1]
I also started working on this but I wasn't so sure if you would track it down yourself but I'll give you the link to it anyway. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Western_Pacific_334 Insomniac187 (talk) 21:20, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I saw No. 142’s update. Completing that locomotive’s draft is next on my to-do list. I have all the sources I need, now.
As for No. 334, I don’t know much about that locomotive, so I can’t do much to help you with that, even though I think it’s a nice machine. Same story goes for WP 94; I think it’s nice, but I don’t know much about it. Someone who likes train writing (talk) 04:46, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about Baldwin Class 12-32 ¼ E

Hello Insomniac187, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Baldwin Class 12-32 ¼ E, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Baldwin Class 12-32 ¼ E.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|TarnishedPath}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Wanamaker, Kempton and Southern 65

@Someone who likes train writing what do you think of this? Wanamaker, Kempton and Southern 65 Insomniac187 (talk) 10:46, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It uses mostly reliable sources for it’s info, so I can give it a pass. Though, if you would like some input from an editor more experienced than I am, talk to either User:PRRfan or User:Trainsandotherthings . Someone who likes train writing (talk) 15:20, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, you know what? I just found a deletion discussion page for this No. 65 page, and I think the points that have been made there are pretty valid. If you want to defend it, I won’t stop you. Someone who likes train writing (talk) 18:10, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your close of that AFD

This is the only warning you will get. Close an AFD again which is about an article you created and you will have a noticeboard discussion in your honour. Someone else might create it now anyway. TarnishedPathtalk 11:35, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
