Can you please help us create a page for a Moroccan movie director?

It would be greatly appreciated if you could help us create a page for a young and talented moroccan movie director? Alejandro Gonz38 (talk) 11:16, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Alejandro Gonz38. Sure thing. As long as there are enough independent sources supporting his notability.-- Ideophagous (talk) 11:49, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much for your reply Ideophagous. Sorry for the delay; My daughter had some health issues which has kept away many days. The Moroccan movie director's name is 'Ayoub Qanir'. He is American of Moroccan origins (Born in Casablanca, Morocco). He has a lot of coverage from Morocco and Miami-based press (his hometown). He is a great pride to Moroccans for his projects. He even received Knighthood from the Moroccan king. I was surprised to find he did not have a wiki-page. My wife is from Morocco and I am a big fan of Moroccan culture and art. Thank you for your time. Alejandro Gonz38 (talk) 08:36, 8 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, I'll add him to my list of Wiki tasks. I see that he already has articles in French and Spanish. Thanks for the suggestion!-- Ideophagous (talk) 13:25, 12 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Cherry festival in Sefrou moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Cherry festival in Sefrou, is not suitable as written to remain published. It appears there is a WP:UPE or WP:COI conflict. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, and have addressed the UPE/COI issue, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. As per WP policy, please do not move into mainspace yourself. Onel5969 TT me 10:48, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Onel5969 There's no conflict of interest involved. I created this article List of intangible cultural heritage in Morocco which took me a few days to complete, then noticed that two of the listed elements should have their own articles but don't (namely Taskiwin and Cherry Festival in Sefrou), so I created them, but didn't have the time to write them in detail, as I'm currently busy with other things (I'm generally more active on arywiki, and nowadays also with developing a bot for arwiki). But if you insist that the article should remain in draft until it's properly written, then fine. I'll try to make time for it as soon as I can.-- Ideophagous (talk) 17:18, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
My apologies, I used the wrong template when I moved it to draft, it should simply have been moved for not having enough in-depth coverage to show that it meets WP:GNG. There is zero indication you have a conflict of interest. Onel5969 TT me 18:07, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi Ideophagous! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Henry Ohayon that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Paulpat99 (talk) 11:03, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Paulpat99. If an edit takes me less than 2 minutes to do, I usually mark it as minor. But thanks for the explanation. Ideophagous (talk) 11:18, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Algood, happy editing. Paulpat99 (talk) 18:45, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Libyco-Berber inscription from Ain Jemaa

Hi, you uploaded a file on Wikimedia Commons, a photo of a stela found in Ain Jemaa bearing a Libyco-Berber inscription. Can you tell me more about it or recommend some literature? I am working on an article about the Mauretanian kingdom and would like to use your photo in the languages section, if it is from the relevant time period. Thank you, LeGabrie (talk) 20:35, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I took the photo at the Museum of History and Civilizations in Rabat, Morocco. These two explanatory plaques were nearby. One of them says that the stella is from the Mauretanian period. As far as literature is concerned, the only references that come to mind are Encyclopédie berbère (especially these two articles: 1 and 2), Gabriel Camps's book "Les Berbères: Mémoire et Identité", and this article. I can't remember if they specifically mention this stella or not though.

I found a paper that discusses the stele: https://www.persee.fr/doc/etaf_0768-2352_1966_mon_1_1_879 (see page 68-69). It says that it was found in 1926 though, not 1928. I am still going to use the photo, thanks for uploading it! LeGabrie (talk) 23:52, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
    Sure. Any time. :) Ideophagous (talk) 06:18, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
