Tikka Jai Singh Sodhi's journey began at a very early age of 13. He started his career in 10 meter Air Pistol shooting but later took up 25 Meter pistol shooting in 2018 and has since been training with International shooter and ISSF (International Shooting Sport Federation) certified national coach Mr. Subhash Rana.

He first shot into lime light when he shot a record score 383/400 in the Punjab State school shooting competition in 10 meter Air Pistol in the year 2017. Tikka Sodhi was the first student of Punjab who represented Punjab in first Khelo India School Games in pistol shooting event. First Khelo India School Games was inaugurated by hon'ble prime minister Narendra Modi in 2017 at New Delhi.

He added another feather in his cap , when he won silver medal in 25M Rapid Fire Pistol junior men in International shooting competition of Hanover (ISCH) held at Hanover, Germany in 2018.

The youngster from Mohali showed his mettle by winning 3 Gold Medals in 25M Sports pistol and Standard Pistol in 38th North Zone shooting championship held at Dehradun in 2018. He won 2 Gold Medals in 25M Standard Pistol Men & junior men category at 12th Maharaja Dr. Karni Singh Memorial Competition held at Jaipur in 2018. He won bronze medal in 25M Standard Pistol junior men in 28th All India G V Mavlankar Shooting championship held at Chennai, Tamil Nadu in 2018. He won 3 Gold and 2 silver medals in Indian Revenue Open shooting Championship 2018.

Probably His most memorable year is 2018. In the year 2018 he won 31 medals in different international, national, Zonal and state competitions. On behalf of the Government of Punjab, Mrs. Razia Sultana, Cabinet Minister Punjab honored him with Praman Patra on 26th January, Republic Day celebration at Mohali, Punjab.

With his great performance in 25M pistol events in Selection Trials and National Competitions, The National Rifle Association of India selected Jai in Junior National Squad . He is the first player from Mohali and first student of the Learning Paths School, who will Shine in Indian Shooting Team.
