The Cue Ball Group is a Boston-based venture and alternative investment company founded in 2005.

Cue Ball’s Venture Strategy focuses on consumer and information businesses with a preference for businesses that allow for long-term leverage of trademarks, data, technology, or other intellectual property. It identifies these opportunities through a heritage grounded in entrepreneurship and an investment approach that combines fundamental strategic analysis with creative and operating experience.

Cue Ball’s Alternative Strategy is delivered through the Cue Ball Discovery Fund, a highly selective fund of hedge funds focused on early- to mid-stage hedge funds. The thesis of targeting its investments in funds of less than 3 years in age and less then $250MM in assets under management, it is able to capitalize on the traditionally higher returns of young funds.
