Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Talk:Power Rangers. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by some search engines, including Google. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. --bonadea contributions talk 18:07, 3 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Gamergate members requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Members list

I'd like to ask that you not recreate this article in any way. There are a number of reasons for this.

The first is that the name "member" gives off the impression that the Gamergate community is one that might have membership requirements, meaning that you have to sign up somewhere. Given that not all of the people in this community see other members as part of their version of GG, a list could be very problematic. Now even if we took "member" in its loosest form, that would turn the page into this long, unwieldy list. That leads to problem number two.

The second issue is that Wikipedia is not a directory of names. The only way that this sort of list would be able to exist is if the people in the list are very, very notable, enough to where they'd merit their own entries. Many will not fall within that criteria.

However one of the biggest reasons is that some might take this as a way to shame members of the GG community. This might not have been your intent and I can where a pro-GG person would see it as a positive thing, but it's still something that could be seen as a way to call people out and encourage harassment. Not only that, but not every person might want to be on this list even if they would acknowledge themselves to be pro-GG.

This isn't a good place for something like this. You might be able to create this list on one of the private wiki sites like Wikia, although I'd probably bring the idea of a list somewhere in the GG community first to see if the idea will be well received or if a similar list already exists elsewhere.
