Writing about fiction

Hi there. I saw that you edited the plot of Automata. Unfortunately, you converted the plot into past tense, which is something that we don't use for plots on Wikipedia. Per our guide for writing about fiction, we write in a continual present tense. That means that the plot should read like: "He opens the door and enters the room, where he finds his wife." Past tense should generally not be used unless it is necessary to indicate that something happened in the past: "As he experiences the flashback, he remembers that he killed his wife." Also, our guideline on film plots instructs us that plot summaries should be kept within 400 and 700 words. This is often an issue when expanding longer, more detailed plots. I know it seems like Wikipedia has hundreds of hidden rules, but it's not so bad once you get used to it. You might want to browse through our manual of style on film, the simplified manual of style, and the simplified ruleset. That'll cover most situations. You can get help at the tea house, a welcoming place for newcomers; the help desk, a forum for questions about editing Wikipedia; and WikiProject Film, an active and friendly forum where we discuss how to improve film-related articles.
