Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of name and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Hut 8.5 16:34, 28 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I was blocked because I put social media links to the bottom of the website and I believed that it would be useful information for those who wish to quickly6 find the organization's links. I understand that I cannot post those links if they are not necessary for reference purposes, such as citations, and I will not promote any other events or pages related to the organization in the future.

Decline reason:

You won't be unblocked to, in the short term, edit about the CCIFF. If that is your only goal here, this is the end of the road for your Wikipedia career. If you want to be a general contributor and edit about topics unrelated to your conflict of interest, such as Justin Trudeau or Joe Biden or math or science, please tell what topics you might edit about. You'll need to demonstrate your understanding of Wikipedia policies by editing in other areas before being permitted to submit drafts or edit requests. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 19:47, 28 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

No, this was not the problem. See WP:COI, WP:PAID, and WP:PROMO. --Yamla (talk) 18:23, 28 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to understand why I must contribute to other pages in order to be able to unblocked. I might decide to contribute to other pages in the future if the needs arise, in relation to other film festivals, but I do not plan to do so right now just for the sake of getting myself unblocked for this account. In all transparency, I assure you that I will not be self-promoting on the page and will use objective/neutral tone in the content, or use the connected contributor template. But if you are telling me that I have to edit some pages immediately to get myself unblocked, then that is a very harsh treatment. All that I might want to do with this account, for now, is to add the names of the award-winners for that constructive sake.

Decline reason:

We have other representatives of organizations who are here only to write about their organizations, but they do it in a way that is compatible with Wikipedia policies and guidelines. So no, you don't necessarily have to edit other article, but you do have to comply with the policies linked immediately above this notice. So far, you have not proposed how you would come into compliance. Here's a hint: You must do it without making any substantive changes to the CCIFF article, you must propose changes on the talk page. If you are an employee, contractor, or volunteer for CCIFF, you must disclose that because you entered into a legally-binding agreement to make that disclosure when you created this account. Your appeals so far have not demonstrated that you have read or understood WP:COI and WP:PAID. ~Anachronist (talk) 18:32, 29 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
