If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Geraint Hardy requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. About your page...

Hey, Brittpearce. I just wanted to leave you a more personal, handwritten message here about Geraint Hardy; I apologize for not doing so before now. First of all, I'm sorry, but just changing a word or two here and there just won't cut it; the article needs to be entirely rewritten from scratch to avoid the copyright violations. You see, copyright violation is one of the few things that Wikipedia itself can get into legal trouble for, so we have to be extremely cautious about it. Second, even if the article wasn't made from copyrighted text, it's still a bit too promotional in tone. We strive to have our articles represent a neutral point-of-view, and I think the language in the article right now is just a bit too much on the promotional side. This can be a very difficult thing to judge, especially if osmeone has a real-life connection to the subject of the article, but it's something we have to strive for, nonetheless. Finally, and this is rather a minor point, please don't try to remove the speedy deletion tag from an article if you made the article yourself. The authors of articles are not allowed to remove the tags from their own articles. Don't worry, an admin will come along and review it before it's deleted, and if I've made a mistake in tagging it (it does happen sometimes!), it won't be deleted. The mere existence of the tag won't cause it to automatically be deleted or anything. If you want to say something in defense of the article for the reviewing admin to read, you can do so here, at the article's talk page. The admin will read and take your comments into account before making a decision on whether to delete the article or not.

Let me also say this: don't worry about it! Lots of people have their articles deleted, especially when they're just starting out. It happens all the time; nobody will hold it against you! Wikipedia can be a pretty fun place; the rules can be tough to get a handle on, but I find that it's worth it! If you have any questions, or need more help, feel free to ask me whatever you like on my talk page, or you can ask at the Teahouse, where new editors can go to get any question they have about Wikipedia answered in a friendly, relaxed manner.
