Hi, I tried to make a correction regarding the first use of poison gas in WWI. The date listed in the current wikipedia entry is two years off. The citation is also questionable. Here is one of (many) sources that give the correct date: https://www.warmuseum.ca/firstworldwar/history/battles-and-fighting/weapons-on-land/poison-gas/
I have only edited wikipedia a couple of times, years ago. My apologies if I didn't do it correctly. I will try to do it again properly. Thanks BonnieTikaTavish (talk) 05:49, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, BonnieTikaTavish!
First, this article is about mustard gas, & your source indicates that the German troops used liquid chlorine gas on 22 April 1915. In fact, your source goes on to indicate that "The Germans unleashed mustard gas in the summer of 1917."
Second, you can find aid with footnotes at Help:Footnotes & {{cite web}}. If you are editing Wikitext, you can use https://citer.toolforge.org/citer.fcgi to format the vast majority of ciations. If you are using VisualEditor, you can find instructions on how to automatically generate citations here at the Editing references section. Peaceray (talk) 06:19, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
