PROLOGUE The play was started with Narrator. When he came out to narrate the play for the audience. The play was started in the palace where Oba Olabode the Iluwanfe of Wanfe was discussed with his chiefs and OLoris of 20 years that he has been on the throne. He wants to mark it. Later, first chief said reasonable speech about the problems that happen in village. Death of young people and thieves are robbing the people in iluwanfe. And how to find solution to it. But the problems was curse by kabiyesi; he murder before he become king of iluwnfe. But after some trouble. He confesses of what he has done. And they make a sacrifice which ADEOLA took it to forest and the problems of death, thieves were solved. Later on everything was going smoothly. The kabiyesi now realize that there are two worlds.

ACT ONE

SCENE 1 The play was started at palace, where OBA OLABODE ADEKOGBE, the Iluwanfe of Wanfe. With his three Oloris and chiefs. When the sun is still scorching. They discuss on how to celebrate the 20years that kabiyesi was on the throne and to find solution to problems that happen in village.

CHIEFS: [our sovereign] long life be yours [prostrate] kepe bi monpe se n pe OBA OLABODE: [Reply, and sake his whisk] Ase FIRST CHIEF: kabiyesi, about the coming celebration of your birthday. Am suggesting maybe we should invite some villages around us, the villages like BAWO, OLO FAN and the rest kabiyesi. SECOND CHIEF: [support] kabiyesi what Otun have said is right; if we invite them, our village we be laugh. And they we know that we are mark 20 years of our king on the throne. Oba Dadaa…. OLORI AJOKE: [smile], Even we Oloris have prepared some tangible suppress in that day, [ask Olori’s]. abi be koni? OLORI ANIKE & OGUNYEMI: [answer], beeni iyale wa [senior wife]. OBA OLABODE: [Appreciate]. I thank all of you for your support. May our gods help you? May all of us see that great day. About what you have said [chiefs], I appreciate it; I will send criers to some villages around us. To have it in mind. That I will like them to celebrate with us. Abi bo leri si? CHIEFS: [answer], is good kabiyesi [Oloris smile]. FIRST CHIEF: Kabiyesi, let live that on e to one side, please, I want us to look at problems in our village, yesterday when I am gone out, I saw Ayinla cried he said one of his son just fallen down and die, kabiyesi let find solution to it. SECOND CHIEF: Kabiyesi, on this matter that Otun have put month on, even there was one thief they arrested yesterday night, if they came to your house and they find none to carry they can kill or rape your wife, if you get daughter they can do it, they do it for Alao family last moon. OLORI AJOKE: [look badly], is not good, gods should help us in this village. OLORI ANIKE: [look at kabiyesi], kabiyesi something most done to this issue, because we cannot do the birth day when a lot of problems are happen OLORI OGUNYEMI: Abio,kabiyesi will needs to find solution to it. OBA OLABODE: I thank you all for your contribution, may our Ancestors lead us to the way. I also think about the cause of these problems. But I believed that one day. Solution will be finding to it. Am not quit on it. One Yoruba said “eni to owo re oti te eku ida, koni bere ikutopa baba re. [A person that he did not hold the handle of sword can never ask particular death that killed his father]. Let continue to pray to our gods. ”


SCENE TWO

                       The scene restrict were Baba Awogbemi the Ifa priest of Iluwanfe, was praise gods [orumila] suddenly TOWN CRIER enter   

BABA AWOGBEMI: Ifa! i praise you for wake me up this great morning, orumila o se [knocking] Tani o? ko wo le TOWN CRIER: [PROSTRATE] good morning Baba. BABA AWOGBEMI: if am not in wrong direction, you are the massager of kabiyesi. TOWN CRIER: [knock his head] bee ni Baba, and kabiyesi sent me to you that he need your attention in the palace. And when you are come, you should come along with your massager of Ifa [Opele]. BABA AWOGBEMI: thank you my son, tell kabiyesi that I will be there very soon. O se oda boo greet kabiyesi for me.

     In some view hours BABA AWOGBEMI appear in palace and he drop his Opele [massager of Ifa].

BABA AWOGBEMI: [Eulogy, constructed Ifa] our sovereign ifa make a good word on this issue, but ifa said ‘the problems were come from you’. Kabiyesi you needs to think about it. OBA OLABODE: [SIPPRESS!] BABA! But I don’t know. Can you review it again. BABA AWOGBEMI: [Eulogy, baba ask again], ifa Eleri eke, as it is, let me known. Kabiyesi ifa said “that before you became king you have used human being for sacrifrifice, and this is the repercussion of it”. OBA OLABODE: [knocking his head and sake his whisk]. Baba as you said it, that is how it is, but what is the next solution? BABA AWOGBEMI: [reply], you will tell your wives, your children and your chiefs. Later we can now make a sacrifice. OBA OLABODE: but Baba it not speak well, it not propare to say it. BABA AWOGBEMI: but you need to say it. Let them know. Kabiyesi I need to be on my way. Kepe ooo,odaa boo [baba sing song and kabiyesi started think about it]. Ifa gbenro orun mila gbami, manje n sise 2x. E wobi ori gben de o e……ya wobi ori gben de o a a….. Hun o man man pe mo le de poyi ew o bi ori gben deee… 2x.

                          SCENE THREE
                
                            Prince Adeola and his friends are talk on how to celebrate his father birthday. They seated close to palace and how to going and meet BABA AWOGBEMI on problems that happen. 

PRINCE ADEOLA: Adigun you will help me tell Romonke that she will help me prepare food and her friends. On the day of occasion. FIRST FRIEND: Okay, prince there is no problems on that. SECOND FRIEND: please prince we needs to look at what happen in our village, please let find something to it. May be will should go and meet Baba Awogbemi, abi bawo? FIRST FRIEND: you right Alamu, because Yoruba proverb said “ohun ti odun ni, ni opo loro eni”. [What pain person is what he\she think about]? If we celebrate kabiyesi birthday, even not 20 years, it may be 40 years, but when the community are not happy. Is meaningless. Please prince let find solution to it. PRINCE ADEOLA: two of you are right, but we need to take step right now, Oro igbonse ni enikan kifi ran omo eni.

               Three of them on their way to BABA AWOGBEMI later when they got there, they knock.

PRINCE ADEOLA: [KNOCK] baba good afternoon. BABA AWOGBEMI: who is that? Just open the door and enter. [Baba saw the prince and laugh]. Ah! Adeola omo oba, I think there is no problem? Akiri ewu losan.sit down, these are your friends? PRINCE ADEOLA: [reply], yes Baba, they are my friends but baba I come here for your rescue on the situation on the grand in our village. I want everything to solved, before we mark 20 years of kabiyesi. If am going out the people we shout on me. Please baba helps me find something to it. BABA AWOGBEMI: thank you me prince, you are a good son, even yesterday kabiyesi sent massager to me, and I have review the solution to him. PRINCE ADEOLA: [LOOK WORRY], Baba what is the solution? FIRST FRIEND: Baba please let know the solution. SECOND FRIEND: Baba we need to know the solution, and let make a way out. BABA AWOGBEMI: thanks my son may gods help you all. What you need to do know is for you to go and meet kabiyesi and he should tell the entire secret thing that he has done. Before he became king of iluwanfe. PRINCE AWEOLA: okay baba, we will still come and see you later. Bye for now. [Adeola and his friend going out and the scene close].

                           SCENE FOUR
 
             The scene was started at Ajoke inner room where adeola and Olori’s were talking on the matter of death of youth and thieves in iluwanfe.

PRINCE AWEOLA: [call all Oloris]. Oloris I greet you all, may you live long; but the reason why I call you is that about the problems that happen in Iluwanfe. I got out on this matter, but Ifa said “the solution was in the hand of kabiyesi” Ifa said “kabiyesi has done some secret thing before he became king of iluwanfe” until kabiyesi said it. And there will be a sacrifice to it.

 OLORI ANIKE:         thanks you my son, may gods still continue to give you more knowledge and understand. Let me call kabiyei and narrate it for him. Abi eyin Olori ti ri si?

OLORI OGUNYEMI: you right, Epe won wa si ibi bayi [they call kabiyesi and they narrate the story to him]. PRINCE ADEOLA: [prostrate], kabiyesi kepe, I was narrating the problems that happen in our village. I have gone out to it. Ifa said “theirs secret you kept, Ifa continues to say “that you do secret thing when you are seeking for the throne”. I have explain it for Oloris OBA OLABODE: [sit down], thank you my son, may our gods give you more knowledge, O se gan ni, Baba Awogbemi said that also, but I am thinking of it. As soon as I flash back to it. I will quickly let you no. [He known it but he did not suitable for him to says]. OLORI AJOKE: please kabiyesi , you needs to think about it, because a lot of problems are happen. Death of youth and thieves around the village; and the people are not having rest of mind. OLORI OGUNYEMI: Bee ni oo kabiyesi. You need to think toward it, and let find solution to it, somebody needs to wait for his own time. [Hiss and going out], all depart.

                After they depart, prince ADEOL now call his sister; ADEBIMPE AND ADEWUSI

PRINCE ADEOLA: [He talk to his sister], Hello my sisters? You are not a small lady and you know what is going on, in our village. About the problems of death of youth and thieves. I have going out to it. I have told kabiyesi, even I and Oloris has just finished told him. Please you need to talk to him to open the secret. ADENIKE: My brother. Even I and my sister we have meet kabiyesi that what is going on in this village is not good, you now see funny thing. Yesterday I was going to river with my friends, when I saw Iya Aduni crying and she said “aduni as die”. ADEBIMPE: even I also try to meet kabiyesi privately, but kabiyesi said “there will be a solution to it”. ADEWUSI: I pray that gods should help us on this matter. PRINCE ADEOLA: Please it never end, we needs to put more effort to it. By disturb kabiyesi, [they depart and the scene was close].


                            SCENE FIVE
              The scene started at palace where Chiefs and OBA OLABODE was talk about the problems; suddenly they hear noise from outside. The village where make irritability to king.

OBA OLABODE: [talk and sake his whisk]. My chiefs on the matter of village. Am think of what I have done, but I never get it FIRST CHIEF: kabiyesi, you needs to flash back [suddenly they hear noise], kabiyesi what is going on outside? OBA OLABODE: [He looks through the window]. Ah! The communities are make irritability; please what can I do now? Please help me. SECOND CHIEF: Kabiyesi, let go and meet them. When we get there, you will tell them that, there we be a solution, and you are work on it. OBA OLABODE: Thanks, Oya let go and meet them. YOUTH LEADER: kabiyesi, we greet you and your chiefs. We here to make our exhibition to what happen; we want you to find something to it. We also hear that you want to mark 20 years that you are in throne. It cannot work, unless you solved the situation on the ground. But if you want to try it, you can do it. No cause for alarm; until flog jump in to hurt water before he known’s that theirs two world. [The villagers still make noise and sing song: kolomo ki lo fo mon ree o ni o ro. After that they go back home]. OBA OLABODE: [SAD and confuses], Otun, Osi what can I do now? I am think to it, but I have not got it. Please help me. FIRST CHIEF: kabiyesi, I will be on my way, you needs to think toward it, everything is in your hand. Abi Osi? SECOND CHIEF: Bee kuku ni, let go together. [Scene close].


ACT TWO

                             SCENE ONE
                 Kabiyesi and chiefs were seated in palace they brought a thief.

OBA OLABODE: [greeting], I greet you my chiefs. I thank you all for your support me on my throne. About the problems that happen, I was also going out yesterday night and they told me that solution will be finding to it. But I need your support to carry out the journey successfully. FIRST CHIEF: We are no keep quilt on it, abi chief Osi? SECOND CHIEF: Yes, o to ni eso, [they brought a thief to palace], what is this? TOWN CRIER: this is one of thief they arrest this morning FIRST CHIEF: what did them said he done? TOWN CRIER: they said, “He rob Ajala house” [reply]. OBA OLABODE: [ask thief question], which place are you? THIEF: [REPLY], banwo village. OBA OLABODE: [anger], you cannot steal in your village you see Iluwanfe as a right place for you to steal. How dare you come here to steal; you will blame yourself. FIRST CHIEF: [shake his head], kabiyesi ati ko ifan le, ifa tin se. this is one of issues we are talking about. SECOND CHIEF: [talk to kabiyesi silent], kabiyesi we needs to look at this matter. If not of what happen he we not have gods to come here and steal. OBA OLBODE: [silent to it], Thank you my chiefs, crier take him to prison and don’t let prisoners bit him. Give him food; he will use six moons in prison. [kabiyesi ask chiefs about his judgment after carrier have left]. Eyin ijoye me bawo ni eti risi? FIRST CHIEF: I like your judgment but kabiyei try to informed them that they should not bit him, because not his fault I ours. Or how do you see it Osi? SECOND CHIEF: you are right Otun, kabiyei do as Otun have said, and may our gods help you. [Scene close].


                           SCENE TWO
       
               In the OLORI AJOKE, she sat down and sobs in her room. Later OLORI ABIKE and OLORI OGUNYEMI enter.

OLORI AJOKE: [sobs and praying], God why? Why me? Please God I want you to talk to kabiyesi, to say all what he has done. God!!! [Crying out, please you are the one that can talk to him; the two Oloris enter and rush to her]. OLORI ABIKE: Ah! Iyawa, what is it? Please don’t crying God will take control [crying]; please do you want us to crying? Please Iyawa, the only solution to these problems is to pray to our gods to forgive kabiyesi and to let kabiyesi confess of what he has done. OLORI OGUNYEMI: [crying], Iyawa pleae hear what Oloris abike has said. The only solution is to pray to gods to meet kabiyesi mind and confess of hat he has done that we don’t known. [They all crying & later went to OBA OLABODE]. OBA OLABODE: Oloris what happen that your face so sad? Or it is about the problems that happen in our village. Gods will take control. You hear? OLORI AJOKE: [CRYING], kabiyesi it’s [answer], but you need to confess it and let us know what we are going to do to it, because the people curse us. [Crying], we don’t have free movement again in the village [crying]. OLORI ABIKE: [crying], even our children are not having free movement again. The people are said “see the kabiyesi children they are not die, only we villagers are die. They curse our children. Please you needs to confess” [crying and kabiyei look at them without no what to say]. OLORI OGUNYEMI: [crying], kabiyesi, even Iyawa [olori ajike] didn’t eat again. She sobs in her room, without eating anything or do you want to kill us [crying]. Taba kutan a man wo eni ti ajoba lelori. Until flog jump into hurt water before he know there is two world. OBA OLABODE: [think and sobs], please my Oloris I also am not sleep at all, a also meditate on it, but I have not get a vivid reason. Please I will find something to it, may gods help me. I promised solution ill be find to it. [he look at Oloris as they all going out with crying].

                               SCENE THREE

In the palace PRINCE ADEOLA & his friends meet OBA OLABODE ADEKOGBE privately. To discuss the issue with him. PRINCE ADEOLA: [prostrate], kabiyesi I and my friends come to appeal to you and confess all what BABA AWOGBEMI have said, in our village I don’t have free movement again, please kabiyesi, I want you to find solution to it [crying]. FIRST FRIEND: [prostrate], kabiyesi please we are not happy, about all what is happen. When we going out they we abuse us please, don’t let us be ashamed in village. SECOND FRIEND: [prostrate], kabiyesi your joy is our joy. Prince joy is our joy and prince did not happy. Please kabiyesi find something to it [crying], we also heard that villagers came to palace for exhibition. Please kabiyesi. OBA OLABODE: [have your sit, he told them], please my sons I have hear you, but I am not keep quilt on it. Am also visited some priest to make a solution for me. But I believe that very soon. There will be a solution to it. Please don’t crying [he pray for them], gods will bless you, and you will become an important person in future by the power of our gos. Please don’t crying again. It’s well. Ese pupo olorun yio wape lu yin.

          After they depart olabode the iluwanfe of wanfe was in his inner room and started crying and sing song.

OBA OLABODE: [sobs and sing song], * kere ngbe to fo de yin leyin o do 2x abinu eni deyin leyin mi. Kerengbe tofo deyin leyin odo. * kerengbe tofo deyin leyin odo2x sebi moti fi o se etutu naa oo. Kerengbe to fo deyin leyin o doo. [The Oloris heard the song that kabiysi sing, they enter]. OLORI AJOKE: kabiyesi we Oloris have hear what you are said through song. Means you have committed murder before you became king. Now you need to call all your chiefs. OLORI OGUNYEMI: awa ni kan kola gbo, eleyi koni nu ekun mon. just let call Baba Awogbemi to talk to massager of Ifa to give us way out. OBA OLABODE: Please, Ema binu simi, I don’t know how to say it before, because I was committed murder before I become king. I am an Archer tht shoot up. Ami ni eni t iota ofa soke toyeri to bo ri. Plase help m. OLORI OGUNYEMI: No problems just send your crier to call your chiefs and Baba Awogbemi to make a way out. OBA OLABODE: Okay, I have heard you.

                 SCENE FOUR

In the palace, kabiyesi and his chiefs with BABA AWOGBEMI, they discuss on kind of solution they are going to find to it. OBA OLABODE: [sad & sake his whisk], Baba Awo? I call you to make a way out. I have ready to confess of all what I has done. Before I don’t know how to say it. But Oloris saw me yesterday, when I was saying it through song. They call my attention to say it. Baba I am the Archer that shoot up, without know that God is seen me. Baba I make a great mistake when I want to became a king on this iluwanfe. There was one priest call Late Baba Ifatola, he said “you needs to put human being blood for ritual sacrifice before I can become king of iluwanfe” after he said it, I agreed to do it. I don’t know that repercussion will come, but now consequence of it have come no. baba please, E gba mi. what is the solution? [He sake his whisk]. BABA AWOGBEMI: [silent laugh]. No curse for alarmed, since you have confess. It’s all? [kabiyesi sake his head], you need to thank you creator, because if you don’t confess at this time, net moon you will die, Ifa have told me all what you have done, but Ifa said I should not told anybody. FIRST CHIEF: Baba what is the solution? SECOND CHIEF: [praying silent], Ele dumare oman seun. OBA OLABODE: Baba please, let know what to do. BABA AWOGBEMI: en lo oyo en kanju “you are going to oyo you are hurry” [he ask Ifa Eulogy], kabiyesi Ifa has make a clear words. He gave us way out. He said “we are going to make a great sacrifice and prince ADEOLA will take it to forest and after that no problems”. [After the meeting, the king calls prince]. OBA OLABODE: Adeola!!! [Call prince], come I want to see you. PRINCE ADEOLA: okay kabiyesi am come. [He prostrate for kabiyesi]. OBA OLABODE: [He pray for prince & sake his whisk], oda gba, olorun yio wo o, you will not die in young. Ti mo ba da gba ti mo dogbo iwo lo gun aga ase yi. Have your sit. Please prince I have confess for Oloris and chiefs of what I have done, but the next step is that Ifa said you are going to take a sacrifice to forest you alone, [prince look at kabiyesi worried], please prince you will help me do it. PRINCE ADEOLA: [crying because he afraid]. Okay kabiyesi. I will take it, which day? OBA OLABODE: tomorrow [answer]. PRINCE ADEOLA: No problem, this will be a lesson for those who be in high post, they should also look back. They should not do bad thing. I will try my effort for this village. May gods help me? OBA OLABODE: Ase, walo layo, wade layo.

SCENE FIVE

            In forest of priest house they put sacrifice on the hand of PRINCE ADEOLA and kabiyesi pray to it and chiefs. Later the Prince and Baba going in to forest.
   

BABA AWOGBEMI: Kabiyesi please come and pray for the prince to go save and come back safely. OBA OLABODE: Okay baba. Adeola you will go and come back saved, without any problems. Igba oko igba ada, won ba oke dite. Sugbon oke omu oke oje. Oke bori gbogbo won. Wa bori gbogbo ota re, koni hun o, wa lola yo wa de layo. CHIEFS: Ase, nkan kan koni se o. walo re, wa bo ree, lagbara olorun. OLORI ANIKE & OGUNYEMI: [CRYING], Ase, walo ree, wabo layo. Lagbara eleda iya ree. OLORI AJOKE: [crying bitterly], may gods direct you to right way. Awa na yio ma gba adurafun o [she crying & Oloris take her in to the house, for counseling]. BABA AWOGBEMI: prince stand up, is time [he led him to forest and get back], May gods direct and led you through, walo layo wade layo.

  In the next day,Olori Ajoke was counseling by Olori Anike & Ogunyemi that prince Adeola will come back safely.          	

OLORI ANIKE: iyawa kilo de ti e n sunkun? Prince will come back saved. Please, iyawa don’t crying again. It also pains us. OLORI OGUNYEMI: [cying], iyawa do not crying please, gods will direct him safely. [kabiyesi enter]. OBA OLABODE: Iya adeola! Don’t crying I believe my gods and my ancestor they will save prince. Don’t worry. He will came back home safely. Please, joo. Have you eaten? OLORI OGUNYEMI: she has not eaten anything. Since prince Adeola has gone. OBA OLABODE: please, I beg you. Iya Adeola, just go and eat, please Olori’s find food for her to eat, [Oloris anike & Ogunyemi led Olori Ajoke to room for eating].

     In third day Prince Adeola return home safely. He goes straight to BABA AWOGBEMI house for the rest of the sacrifice, He wearing white cloth.

PRINCE ADEOLA: [greeting], Eku ile baba……. BABA AWOGBEMI: [baba open the door and see him], Ah! Adeola omo ola, omo gbogbo ilu. Welcome se dada lode? I think there are no problems? PRINCE ADEOLA: [reply], Baba abu loso pe kosi iyonu . sugbon adupe pe mo de layo. No problems. BABA AWOGBEMI: oku omo akin [praise him], you are a good son. May gods help you and protect you. Thanks very much. Let go to palace for the rest of the sacrifice. They are expecting you. [They go to palace]. BABA AWOGBEMI: [greeting], Eku ile oo, prince has return. OLORI AJOKE: [she rush out], Ah! My son, welcome. Omo daadaa, omo toti inu iya gbon. Ajadi Ogan, omo masupo, omo aga mon go. [Praise], I thank gods, Eleda Iyami oseun oo. [Dancing] O seun olorun; it call for celebration. OLORI ANIKE & OGUNYEMI: [they dancing], Ah! Olorun o se. [sing and dancing], * Emi lao ni yo si bati fe kori bena lori. Emi lao ni yo si. [ kabiyesi sent town crier to villager to come. Because prince Adeola has back from forest]. In the afternoon. The entire villager arrived at palace. OBA OLABODE: [greeting], I greet you all villagers of Iluwanfe. May gods protect us. The purpose of sent to you is that prince Adeola has come back from forest [shout] As you all know that he took sacrifice to forest. But we thanks gods that he have return, after he has arrived we have finished the remaining sacrifice and we thanks our gods, and our ancestor we have been forgive of our past wrong. [The villagers shout. Ose oluwa], like am saying no more thief in Iluwanfe again. VILLAGERS: [shout]. Ase oo [making noise]. BABA AWOGBEMI: let hear word, silent please may our gods help us. kabiyesi have said many things. Ani ri iku, ati ole mon, lagbara awon alale Iluwanfe yi. VILLAGER: Ase. OBA OLABODE: Now that all what is trouble us has gone. Am saying this with the mouth of my chiefs. We are going to mark 20 years of kabiyesi on the throne. This will come up; in the end of this moon. By the grace of gods. YOUTH LEADER: We are happy now, and we are going to support you. Abi beko ni? VILLAGERS: Beeni ooo. CHIEFS: [laugh and look at each other]. OLORIS: [laugh and stand up to going inside after the meeting. After two week they did the birthday celebration and everything gone on smoothly in Iluwanfe].
