Request for Usurpation

Hello, Bechamel. A request has been made at Wikipedia:Changing username/Usurpations to usurp, or "take over", your username because you have not used it to edit, and another user would like to use it to edit. Wikipedia:Changing username/Usurpations says that any unused username may be usurped if the user is given an opportunity to object and does not do so.

If you have an email set in your preferences, you should be getting an email from a bureaucrat or changing username clerk explaining how to consent or object to this process.

If you do not object to being renamed to a new username in order for another user to use the name you currently have, please log in and post a reply here saying so (you may also tell us what username you would like to be renamed to, or we will provide you with a generic one).

If you do nothing: the request will be filled shortly, and your account will be moved to a generic username. You may request that it be moved to a new username of your choice at any time.

If you object to being renamed: please log in and make an edit to this page clearly stating that you object to usurpation.

Please note that even if your current username is usurped, you can still edit and your data will not be lost; your preferences, watchlist, and other user settings will be transferred to a new username.

Thank you for your time. Bechamel1 (talk) 09:04, 25 June 2010 (UTC))[reply]

The Rosetta Barnstar
For graciously allowing a fellow editor from another language project to unify their account by changing your username, please accept this rosetta stone as a small token of my appreciation. –xenotalk 19:26, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Tryton, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a copy from http://www.tryton.org/en/, and therefore a copyright violation. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators are liable to be blocked from editing.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under license allowed by Wikipedia, then you should do one of the following:

It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. Leave a note at Talk:Tryton saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved. Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:14, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Goodness, you're very quick and responsive. I can honestly say I've never seen that in an editor who has been dormant nearly a year.:)
I have restored the text; thanks for the permission. In answer to your question, the only real problem with your restoring it yourself in such cases is the additional formality of the note at the bottom, necessary since CC-By-SA requires attribution. But in most cases, it's better to let somebody else do it who can verify having seen the release. We occasionally have people claim that content is authorized when it doesn't seem actually to have been.
Thanks for your promptness! --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:46, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for reverting the page, and I think it's now better that the tryton.org website is under CC-by-CA, this copyright violation notice was a good incentive to do it ! -- Bechamel (talk) 13:13, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
